My visit to the Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge in Golden was a highlight of my time in the area. As I approached the bridge, I was immediately struck by its striking timber frame design, which seamlessly blended with the rugged mountain scenery surrounding it. Walking across the bridge provided a truly unique perspective, allowing me to gaze out over the rushing Kicking Horse River below. The views in every direction were simply breathtaking - from the snow-capped peaks in the distance to the charming downtown of Golden just steps away

What made the experience even more enjoyable was the lively atmosphere around the bridge. I was able to easily find free parking nearby, and then spent time exploring the shops, restaurants, and walking paths that lined the riverfront. The Riverhouse Tavern, in particular, offered the perfect spot to grab a bite and a drink while admiring the bridge.

As the sun began to set, the bridge took on a magical quality, with gentle lighting illuminating its elegant structure. It was the perfect place to pause, take in the scenery, and soak up the peaceful ambiance of this picturesque mountain town.

Overall, the Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge is a must-see attraction that seamlessly blends natural beauty, architectural interest, and convenient amenities. I would highly recommend it to anyone...

The Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge in Golden, British Columbia is a striking example of timber-frame engineering and community partnership. Spanning about 46 meters (151 feet) across the Kicking Horse River, it holds the distinction of being the longest freestanding timber-frame bridge in Canada. Completed in 2001, the structure was built using approximately 72,000 board-feet of Douglas-fir timbers, and a superstructure weighing about 210,000 lbs (95,000 kg). It was the result of a community build: over 100 volunteer timber framers from Canada, the US and Europe participated via the Timber...

Excellent bridge lookout and walking trail in heart of Golden. There is no entrance fee. Ample parking space there is public washroom and a nice icream shop near it. There are lots of resting bench and nice trail along side the river on both sidefor walking, running, jogging or biking. Pets are allowed but on leash. The main entrance is well made lots of flowers and water fountain. The trail is not paved but stroller and wheelchair friendly. Over all its a highly recommended attraction if you are in Golden.
