A cute little spot. You certainly won’t leave here feeling hungry or that you over spent for the quantity you received. It’s not the Chinese food you’d find on the mainland but honestly really great option for a fast and filling meal. The people working were chatting most of the way through, so no one checked on us for more water or drinks. It’s always a nice touch to have refills of empty drinks.

Somehow the seafood dish has less scallops than the other one lol. I feel like this place needs to be taken down a notch. Is it really Google 4.4 stars quality? It's your normal run of the mill American Chinese food. Definitely not amazing or authentic. It could be that the choices in NL is so few that people put this on the pedestal. I think it should be judged fairly.

All is pleasant & clean, typical North American Chinese restaurant. The only complaint is that the Vegetable “Chow Mein” doesn’t come with noodles (by definition chow mein 炒麵 means fried noodles). I guess it works in this part of the world, LOL! Feb 2025 note: Later I did find out in Newfoundland, fried noodles don’t traditionally come with noodles.

Just awful. Awful service and flavourless food.

My wife and I were traveling through on our way back across Canada and stopped in for what we thought would be decent Chinese food. Well, we would have been better off going to McDonalds across the street!

The chicken fried rice did not have any chicken in it. The monstrosity they called chicken noodles was a slimy, wet, onion covered mess. The only thing that had flavour was the sweet and sour sauce, but it was super thick and overly sweet.

To top it all off, we were only offered one glass of water each and nobody came by at any time to check on how we were doing or to ask if we wanted anything else to drink. They didn't even provide us soy sauce while every other table had a bottle on it.

And the reason I am giving 1 star instead of 2, is that we were only provided one napkin to share between the two of us! I am a man with a mustache and a beard who was eating sticky sweet and sour sauce covered food!

I would give 2 stars if the service was better, since the food was at least edible and the portions...

Stopped here on the drive to the ferry at Port-aux-Basques... it was such a good experience and such delicious food, that we also made a second stop-in on our return trip back. Both visits were equally satisfying. If you want real Cantonese food, the chef is more than willing to go the length to provide it, the local crowd is generally more used to Canadian style Chinese, so the restaurant caters to that - but you can go "off the beaten track" and order the Cantonese Chow Mein or Fried Rice, or the (spicy recommended) Singapore Noodles, or the Beef and Broccoli on Lo Mein... among other authentic dishes... even to order something not on the menu - if the chef can do it, and you ask nicely enough, they are almost sure to accommodate. An absolute jewel that will remain a regular stop for us any time we're...
