Bonnie Prince Beverage Room — Restaurant in Grand Lake Road

The Bonnie is just fine and that's about it. Our - my wife, toddler and myself - recent visit borderline unpleasant. The food was average in preparation and quality of the dishes, the restaurant was so dark it was hard to read the menus and our service was quite disappointing. Our server, a younger, blonde woman with glasses, immediately gave the impression she didn't want to be there or serving us. When she came to take our order we asked for an additional minute to help our toddler decide on a meal and the server said she'd be right back before basically disappearing for over 10 minutes. When she finally returned, after checking on the three tables in our section but ignoring us, she rushed us through our ordering. The food did come in a reasonable timeframe but was not delivered to the table by our server. After noticing the server visit the three tables around us and politely asking if they needed/wanted anything she came to our table, said, "You don't want anything" and didn't really give us time to respond before walking away. She also neglected to check on us again. After finishing our meals we waited about 20 minutes before finalling flagging the server over to get the bill. We then waited another 10 minutes, expecting her to return, which she did not, before I ultimately went to the front to pay the bill with another staff member. All-in-all the terrible service of the waitress made this a very poor experience, especially given the food was average at best, and my family and I will very likely not return...

Had supper here with my two children. Ordered our meals and although fairly busy, got it to the table in a reasonable amount of time. With the first bite of my poutine I noticed a hair as long as my forarm intertwined with the cheese. Normally a hair in the food doesn't really throw me off too much, but this was long, dark and completely mixed with my gravy and cheese. I waited for my waitress who had disappeared and when she wasn't returning to the table or general area of my table, I got up and told one of the other waiters that I had an issue with my food. He came to the table, removed my plate, asked if I'd like another made, to which I said yes to. He said it would be "just a minute" and apologized. I said no problem..TWENTY FIVE MINUTES LATER, after my children had finished their meals, here comes my meal. I eat a chicken finger and a few mouth fulls of poutine and asked for it to be packed up as the children were waiting for me to finish. The bill comes and although I didn't raise a fuss or get annoyed with the waitress/hair as I understand these things can happen, I fully expected to have at least some sort of credit taken off the bill, dessert offered, SOMETHING as a way of apologizing for the hair and then the wait which ruined supper. But nothing. 62.00 dollars later all I got was annoyed and cold chicken fingers and poutine which I fed to my dog when I got home. Unfortunately although the food is great, I won't be back as I feel like thatamount money being spent on a meal, deserves to have one...

Food wasn't anything to call home about. 4 of us ate cost $135.65!! Waitress was very rushed and made us feel like it was chore to wait on usp even tho there was barely anyone seated when we arrived. My sister's mashed potatoes and gravy were cold in her 12oz steak meal as well my aunt's clams and fish in the fisherman's Platter were not fully cooked and her fries were horrible. My other aunt had ordered the chicken caesar salad and that came with garlic bread and it was burnt! We also ordered an appetizer prior to our meals the house round I believe it was called... terrible. 6 wings, some potatoe skins and some nachos..wings were dry and seemed double dipped in fryer. The nachos and potatoe skins were very skimpy and wasn't big portions to split between 4 ppl for $20! When I asked the waitress upon arrival what her recommendations were food wise she replied ...I dunno everything is good. Not very professional in my opinion. I do not recommend this place! Food went downhill big time not to mention the service! We won't be back! Price gouging...
