Beyond Breakfast — Restaurant in Grande Prairie

My friend and I arrived on a Saturday around 11:15 a.m. The establishment had a sparkling clean crisp diner feel to it, sprinkled with greenery and smiles.

The first complication was what to order! The menu, vast and enticing, was entrancing. Sweet, savory, breakfasts, lunches. Something for everyone and really relatively reasonable prices with today's inflation rates, we felt. We finally decided on breakfast and just agreed we'd have to come back a few times to sample other menu items.

It took a little time for our orders to be taken, so busy was the place. Rest assured, however, that once we were recognized as still waiting, the service was just lovely and the food even more so! We had one strawberry crepe, eggs benedict traditional with shredded potatoes, eggs over easy with sausage and cubed. Delicious!

What an extra bit of joy in the day when, our having offered to share our 4 person table with another couple due to the busyness of the hour, we went to pay at the end of the wonderful meal, only to discover our table mates had already covered our bill.

Breakfast was great and there are lots of options on the menu. The pancakes are for sure homemade and not from a box as they don’t have the same smittys texture. Sourdough was great. I had the big breakfast sandwich and my description of it is ‘where grill cheese marries breakfast’ it’s great! My husband had the wholesome breakfast with a side of turkey bacon and strawberry smoothie. He felt the bacon was better than other places and he also said the toast was great. The smoothie was like a thick strawberry Julius. Super good. Coffee was excellent- dark and delicious. There is a family bathroom with a change table and kids are welcome. Decided to try the new place by walmart today. I AM IN LOVE WITH THE CREPES!!! fresh fruit and whip cream with one of the most delicious vanilla custard like fillings I have ever had! Next to what my grandma used to make! Btw shes gone and took the recipe with her. (Still saltly about it 15 plus years later lol)

My entire meal; sunnyside eggs, bacon, hasbrowns, toast and crepes were perfectly cooked and hot when they came to my table.

The coffe was stong but not so strong I feel like my stomach is having a war.

The staff were friendly and stopped by multiple times to check on us. We also had the pleasure of meeting the chef who stopped by to make sure our food was good.

Menu is large and varied- not just breakfast food.

Bathrooms were clean, well lit and fully stocked.
