The worst dining experience ever. We popped in unexpectedly for dinner during the bear creek festival when we were temporarily rained out. We were given a table immediately and ordered a couple of cocktails. My husband's martini was warm and came with a twist of lemon instead of olives as requested. Clearly the bartender had no clue how to make a martini and just poured vodka into a glass. Unfortunately my husband hates citrus. When I told the waitress she simply said... yeah we don't have olives, sorry. So my husband ordered a Ceasar instead and requested not spicy. His new drink came with an inch of salt around the rim that made it undrinkable.... didn't seem too spicy but hard to tell when there is a lump of salt floating on the top. My drink was also warm and disgustingly sweet. Im not sure what was in it but it tasted like kool-aid. I asked for a glass of club soda with ice so I could just fix the drink myself. Our meals came quickly and we soon realized why... our burgers were raw. My husband's cutlery was dirty and I had none. We patiently waited for the waitress to come by and she marveled at how quickly we got our food. When we received our clean cutlery I took a few bites of the salad, which was average, then the fries... the fries had so much salt dumped on them they were inedible. I rinsed them off with vinegar because Iwas so hungry at this point... and the waitress was no where to be found to ask for another order. When I took a bite of my burger it tasted off. When I peaked inside the bun I noticed the patty was rare inside. Well that was it for me. My husband had already taken a few bites... his was also undercooked but because of the sauce that it was drenched in he didn't notice right away. He suffered for it that night. When the waitress came, I showed her my rare burger. She asked if I would eat the fries or if she should take it away. Seriously?? Do you know people get sick from undercooked meat? No apologies no offer to order something else... it was strange. When we got our bill she said she removed one burger from the order. Not sure what sense that makes... both burgers were inedible and the martini my husband was served was not what he ordered. We should have gone to the keg. Thankfully the weather cleared up and the food trucks at the festival had decent food so we ate when the festival allowed us back in. Pretty sad that a food truck can offer better service and food than a sit-down franchise. McDonald's serves...
Read moreAfter a long, hard day a friend and I decided we would like a bite to eat at 11pm. Instead of McDonald's which would surely cause a chemical imbalance in our guts. We noticed that The Canadian Brewhouse was open in our local town. With that, we hit the streets. (in reality we drove there). We pulled up, our bellies rumbling. Entering the restaurant it wasn't busy, and we took a table towards the back. For one second I thought that maybe we'd have to let the staff know we were there because it was so dead and maybe no one saw us. The thought merely crossed my mind, when a lovely woman came to great us and get us some drinks. She was polite, high energy and very attentive. She recommend a dill pickle caesar which I was skeptical about. But I trusted her with my life. She brought the drinks and took our orders, and did not judge the amount of food my friend and I piled into our bodies. She didn't come back to check on us too much, as you know when your shoveling food into your mouth it can be unnerving when a server comes to ask you if you need anything every 5 minutes.

Read moreThe food was good but the service was terrible. There was no menu code on the table she said she’d go grab us one, 15 minutes later she still hadn’t brought us our waters or the code so I grabbed one off a neighbouring table. She finally took our beer order then we watched them sit at the bar for another 15 minutes before another waitress brought them over. The table across from us were the waitresses friends and they sat down well after us (we watched another group leave before they sat down). We ordered our food first, the dry ribs that were on special. The other table got their dry ribs first and then she told us we were waiting on ours for another 15 minutes after already waiting 15. It took 10-15 minutes to get the drinks after ordering every round. I ordered a side Caesar salad and Brussels sprouts (which they were out of, I just got a full size salad instead). She gave me the side salad for free because they had already made it. The full size didn’t come till 30 minutes after the other food arrived. And then to top it off she didn’t tell me they were out of Parmesan or croutons and just served it without, without letting me know. I wouldn’t have paid $14 for lettuce, bacon and dressing. Maybe she was new but overall...
