So disappointing to say the least. Went through drive thru and took a minute to order explaining to the impatient clerk that we’d never been there so wanted a minute with the menu. There was no one in front of or behind us. Shoulda took that as a sign. Ordered sauerkraut perogies- the fog wouldn’t even eat them. We assumed like every other perogies- that they were filled with whatever they called them- like potato and cheddar etc. well the sauerkraut ones have very little if any sauerkraut- they do have mushrooms and carrots!! Seriously awful combo. But we’d have thought oh well IF anything else was good. The bacon ones had so little bacon you couldn’t really taste it. The sausage one’s a bun wasn’t too terrible since we took it out and ate it alone. It was on a bun made super doggy by way too many half- fried onions and runny honey mustard. The meat it self was ok. We had the peach crepes described as filled with peaches and whip cream. The whip cream was in a tiny portion. Cup on the side- maybe from a spray can cuz it turned to watery mess before we got our food unpacked. The crepes were really thick so seemed more like a flat pancake and there was basically no filling. - a tiny bit in the middle but you couldn’t taste any peach in all that dough. We had the cheddar bacon ones too which filling was disappointing as I mentioned but I will say the perogi dough was tender and had lots of potential if they cared about the fillings. Overall it was expensive since a lot got thrown out. I did call to say how disappointed we were to find out that unlike every where we’d had sauerkraut perogies they’d never had such a mushy weird mixture of stuff and why wouldn’t they have mentioned what’s In Them knowing we’d never been there before plus the deceiving name implies they’re actually sauerkraut. . The person who answered said “ok have a nice day” and hung up before I could say more. Seriously rude impatient staff - they should focus more on training if they don’t want to put any effort or quality...
Read moreWoke up starving one evening (after nightshift) and decided to order myself some comfort food via Uber Eats. Pierogies were calling my name, so I placed an order from Cozy Pierogi in Grand Prairie. I went all in: soup, two orders of pierogies, a grilled dog (more on that later), and what I thought was another soup.
The food adventure started off a little rocky—Uber Eats took my order on a detour, delivering it to the wrong address. After some waiting (and some serious hangry vibes), I finally got my meal. First thing I opened was the grilled dog which turned out to be half a sausage on a large bun. Now, don’t get me wrong—it tasted fine, but for $10, I expected more than a sausage that looked like it took a coffee break halfway through assembly.
The pierogies, though? AWESOME and totally hit the spot. The mystery dish I thought was soup turned out to be Bigos—a stewed cabbage dish I’d never heard of, but ended up loving. It wasn’t what I expected, but it was hearty, flavorful, and honestly a great surprise. The soup itself was ok, nothing to complain about.
Initially, I gave the place a 2-star rating on Uber Eats and they dont allow changes, because of the sausage disappointment and the delivery mix-up (not the restaurants fault for the delivery but i was hangry the driver got 1 star). But after finishing the rest of the food over the next couple of days, I realized that was unfair. Cozy Pierogi delivered solid, delicious Eastern European comfort food—and I’d definitely order again (just maybe skip the grilled dog).
Moral of the story? Don’t let a sad sausage drag down a delicious meal. This would’ve been a five-star feast if it weren’t for that...
