We chose to celebrate both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day here because of the great variety of food and the quality of service we’ve enjoyed in the past. However, our recent experience was disappointing and has changed our impression of the place.
During our Mother’s Day visit, we were served by an older gentleman who seemed disorganized and didn’t provide good service. Still, we gave him a tip out of courtesy. On our most recent visit, our preferred server—who we really liked—wasn’t available, and the same older gentleman ended up handling our payment, though he wasn’t the one who served us.
When he noticed that we didn’t leave a tip this time, he made sarcastic and unprofessional remarks as we were leaving. Additionally, he charged us a fee for a child who is under 6 years old, which should have been free according to the restaurant’s policy.
Had our original server or another staff member with a pleasant demeanor handled the payment, I would have gladly left a tip. But based on how he treated us, I feel confident that withholding a tip was the right decision.
I almost always tip and believe in rewarding good service. Sometimes, I even hold off tipping just to see how service providers react—because to me, a tip should be earned, not expected. Unfortunately, after this experience, I won’t be leaving a tip for him again, and more importantly, I won’t be returning to the restaurant.
A tip is a reflection of the service received—not...
Read moreTerrible food quality and mostly Filipino cuisine with little to no western style Chinese, poor selections for desert and way overpriced for below average buffet. $66 for two lunches with ice tea and water, they also charge $5 for every 100g of food wasted so be prepared to eat a lot of gross dishes. It should be mentioned this isn’t a place for individuals looking for western style Chinese buffet as it’s strictly Philippines inspired and offers little options for Westerners.
Edit: For your information western style Chinese food doesn't have crispy pork ends, sweet noodle chown mein?, basa fish? heavy battered calamari with excessive garlic seasoning? over battered tasteless tempura shrimp?. All the food items we tried had a “off taste”. The waitress that spoke to us about our concerns agreed that the cuisine is Filipino orientated and not Western style Chinese buffet as described on the brochure menu “Canadian Chinese Buffet”.
Pork buns, fish sauce soup and warm sushi isn't worth $30 a plate. Take your constructive criticism and get that chef some actual training, the food was gross! It was also visible to the customer how dirty the kitchen area was when the servers were opening the door etc. dirty serving trays for the jello, salad dressings etc. its very apparent that the “New management” actually made this place...
Read moreI went for dinner a few weeks ago and it was pretty good. Tonight I talked it up to my guy and convinced him to go. The restaurant was freezing the food was cold if it wasn't cold when you got it. It was definitely cold by the time you ate it. Our table was very wobbly. We never seen our waitress the whole time we ate but another waitress did bring our drinks and collect our dirty dishes. The place was in disarray. The tables which were dirty when we came in were still dirty with the same dishes when we left. To top it all off someone had vomitted pink stuff all over the door and entrance way which we had to walk through and touch to escape the restaurant. I am sure it is going to be a nightmare to cleanup as the door was quite frosted and entrance way was freezing. Ugh. Just a series of unfortunate events. Our meal was 62.98 plus I left a fifteen percent tip for the waitress we never seen. I believe this is not the wait staffs fault but understaffing was probably the issue. Go big or go home if you can't get enough staff to run the place and make it a great experience don't charge...
