This restaurant is gorgeous. The service was fantastic. The calamari was good as well as the sauce to go with it. I've only given this place a 3 star review despite how beautiful it is inside and how Great the service was. I ordered a salad with chicken. To me, that chicken was disgusting and reminds me of fake chicken made to look like real chicken. I know it's chicken but please look at the photos. Notice the perfectly seared grill marks? Notice the weird texture? The holes throughout. It reminds me of a chicken wrap from Tim Hortons, gross. How could a place like this serve this horrible chicken? Overall, I ate 2 pieces of chicken and couldn't finish my salad. The dressing was a nut vinegarette, and I didn't like the taste. My partner had a wagu burger and didn't even finish it. He didn't care for it. We eat out often, we do know quality and we like to cook. The only thing I cared for was the calamari, sad, because this restaurant is not cheap. A gin and tonic was $17, which I've never spent on a drink in my life. I would love to go back and order something else because I'm shocked what they charge for what you get, it's not worth it.

I went to “on the Rocks” with my family for dinner recently. It overlooks Calabogie lake. As you are walking into the restaurant you get the feeling that you are walking into a spa. From the front door to the back patio it has a cozy, well thought out atmosphere. The server that we had was knowledgeable, attentive and as cute as a button. Steph, the guy working the bar and might also be a manager or owner came over and introduced himself. He mixed a great whiskey sour. I had steak Frites that came with a side of vegetables and some parmesan fries. Great tasting food and perfectly cooked. Presentation was very well done. My drink was served on a piece of Dekton amd the deserts were served on samples of Silestone quartz. You could sit outside on the patio if you wanted too, there was a fire pit going that went with the “spa” feel. This place it defiantly worth the drive from Ottawa. Fall was a great time of year to experience this place. I would recommend that if you are looking for a romantic spot for date night that you should try this. It would be tough not to appreciate this for exactly what it is- A slice of heaven.

We went for a work party with 8 people and everyone was happy. I was delighted upon entry to this beautiful space. There is a wooden boardwalk that feels special as soon as you start walking in. We were seated in the big cozy table for parties, which was rustic yet elevated both spatially and design wise. Elements of nature are all around, stone, wood, then just through the windows: sand, water, trees. A bustling bar with creations pouring out, each one more interesting looking than the last. All of my senses were piqued and in harmony. The service was prompt and so professional. Good eye contact, calm confidence and comprehensive understanding and recall of the menu, including specials. Everything arrived very close together, made sense and was prepared correctly; impressive, especially given that nothing was written down. I immediately wished I was staying at the lodge and yearn to go back and enjoy watching the sunset on the beach after dinner. This place is checking all of the boxes. Good freaking job. All we have been doing is raving about it to all who will listen, at our workplace🤣.

Really disappointing from start to finish. We checked out the menu online and were so excited for what seemed like a cocktail bar that was decently new. I ordered a gin martini with a twist or in the very least no olives or olive juice. I was told they could only make a martini extra dirty as it came in a mix. A martini mix? at a cocktail bar? I didn’t know they even made martini mix? Red flag #1 especially since I saw bottles gin and vermouth sitting behind the bar. I feel like the server could have asked for clarification if she didn’t know what drink I was asking for but I was told she was new and didn’t want to be rude, especially since the bartender looked quite busy and already said he couldn’t make a gin martini without olive. I ordered an aperal spritz off of the cocktail menu to be safe. It was shockingly sweet and probably also from a mix. Not terrible but I couldn’t finish it as it just wasn’t my vibe. Not a lot of options. As my main, I ordered the spaghetti dish and it was just alright. Tons of olives (Which I normally like) and a very salty sauce which I also couldnt finish. Garnish was really strange as well. It was just a whole green onion that was almost raw and a raw piece of what I think was raw bok choy maybe? It didn’t go with the dish at all. The Sausage was also really overcooked, but the pasta itself was decent. Now the restaurant was busy and I know our server was new but service was awful. It took over 45 minutes to get just the drinks for our table (and they were all from a mix so shouldn’t have taken thaaat long) and we had several servers jumping in to help out and apologize for our server as she was new and explaining that was why she was disappearing for long stretches of time or forgetting/inputting our orders incorrectly. Each time we asked a question about the menu like which dishes could be gluten free, our server disappeared behind the bar and didn’t come back and we had to flag down a new one to ask. We’ve all been new at our jobs once and could empathize but it did really affect the experience overall. The food took forever, which again makes sense because the restaurant was slammed, and they were sold out of a lot of options, which might’ve been better than the ones we got, but no one at my table of seven enjoyed their food (except for the truffle fries those were okay). We’re not picky eaters and are quite adventurous but nothing seemed worth the price or the wait. I’ve been reading some of the negative reviews to see if this was maybe a one off experience but I can tell from the owner’s defensive responses to each one that this is a place that takes itself way too seriously and over presents what they can offer. It’s more of a casual restaurant with a bit of a nightclub vibe, but don’t expect anything special in terms of food or cocktails and it’s definitely not gourmet fine dining. It works for a resort option but wasn’t worth the...

The name fits the level of service you will receive at this establishment. After calling to see if we would need reservations the recording indicated they were not taking them. So my spouse and I went to enjoy dinner after the drive to our rental. Once there we waited 7 minutes for someone to acknowledge us despite 3 servers and a bartender and keep in mind it’s a smaller venue. Once acknowledged, the gentlemen behind the bar called and informed someone that a table was available (no reservations right?). We were sat at the bar and left to our own as they prepped a couch for us to sit at and when a table became available (one was always available) we would be moved food and all to a proper table. Another 5 minutes passed and our server came over and took our drink order (the Japanese Caesar is a must) she let us know she would return for food order. Another 20 minutes pass as did numerous servers and a well dressed gentleman hob nobbed between tables, chatting and sitting with them while they enjoyed their meals yet our order was yet to be taken. Keep in mind all but one table had been served their meal other than us and that was the table that entered in after us. Finally out of frustration, we decided to pay for our drinks and eat food we brought with us back in our room. We proceeded to the cash and again despite every member of the wait staff going back and forth in front of us we still waited another few minutes to be acknowledged. When we finally were deserving of service, I asked for the managers business card. After some fumbling I was told they don’t have them yet as they recently opened (same message another patron received a month earlier) and they proceeded to try and find that information on their own website. First impressions matter, and in this case they failed to deliver what their decor and ambiance was trying to achieve. I strongly recommend that as an establishment, you get it together sooner rather than later considering the traffic that comes with being in a seasonal resort. I do not recommend this establishment for any level of service but if you can wait, eventually if they see fit, they...
