I'm not sure why but the Swiss chalet is turning to one of my dislike places to eat... Today was by far the worst experience I have had first off the waitress was snotty... Not a good thing at all cause then me as a customer gets defensive...so we placed our order bought 2 chicken meals plus garlic bread with cheese appetizer and we each had coffee ... So the waitress bring us our garlic loaf with 2 place soaking wet the bottom plate was also dirty..so we tried getting her attention but nope when she did see we needed her we got told to wait..well meanwhile our appetizer is getting cold ..so we manage to flag a man in black over who was seating ppl asked him for clean dry plates he said yes and grabbed them second later our waitress comes with our food and the 2 gravy we ordered but no chalet sauce for our chicken again we tried getting her attention and no luck so once again we got the man's attention and he came to our table and when I asked if he could get out chalet sauce as she neglected to bring it he says well u ordered gravy so she would have assumed u didn't want chalet sauce .. I said " gravy is for fried chalet sauce is for the chicken" he wasn't so nice in saying well most ppl use only one or the other I said well as a customer I expect to receive the sauce annd I pay for the gravy so at no point should an employee decide they have the right to take away the signature sauce that goes with the meal! He left n came back with the sauces I finally was able to start eating until I picked up a fry with a hair. Attached and it went under the fries on my plate so it. Took a bit but finally our waitress came over and said what now...I said in my hand is a fit with a piece of hair going under the other fries she grabs my full plate and says ya I'll get a new one ...she comes back puts the plate on the table says nothing and walks away.. not how I expected to be treated by far .. so we are hoping to get our drinks refilled and nope this waitress. Won't come to our table for the life of. Her my sister hold her coffee cup up and gets her attention and the waitress Ridley says just wait a second so minutes go buy she's picking up dirty plates so we get the man's attention yet again...well imagine my surprise when he was rude and loud and says you have not been satisfied at all since u been here so I am covering your whole order and I said I'm ok Ty but I still want a coffee refil..he says yup comes back with the coffee says how his waitress is so busy I said really the 4 tables where we are must b running her rapid cause she did not once bother coming to our table to c how things were if we wanted anything else or to top off our drinks we sat for about 15 more minutes hoping to order a desert but that waitress wouldn't give us the time of day so we left on our way out I found out the man was the apparent manager well he's just as rude as she is and if your manager is that unprofessional u need to replace him because after he was loud at our table ppl around us just kept staring talk about being uncomfortable .. and saddest part was..it wasn't our doing the waitress wasn't doing her job properly is what caused all this .. I take my sister's to eat here often but after today I don't know about returning to there...so very dissapointed in Swiss chalet...

I live 10 hours drive away from Sudbury, Ontario We planned to go Sudbury to celebrate my father-in-law‘s 93rd birthday the weekend of December 9, 2023
Late November I phoned Swiss Chalet and asked about reserving a table for five people December 9 at 5:00 PM I explained to the person I was talking to we didn’t want a 93 year old gentleman to have to wait for a long period of time
The person I talked to told me he would forward the information to the front desk for when we arrived there and it wouldn’t be a problem.
WELL
THERE WERE A NUMBER OF PROBLEMS !
First the older male at the frount desk told me quite loudly in front of other waiting customers that I was wrong, they do not take reservations and i tried to explain that I had called to set it up and he said no I couldn’t have because they don’t take reservations. I said fine put our name down and we will wait. After waiting about 5 or 6 minutes the younger male called our name and we fallowed him to our table.
Within 10 minutes and after ordering our drinks the older male came to our table and told us we were at the wrong table.
He left and returned with a man and 3 young girls followed by a woman, who decided to stop at our table and tell us we had taken her table !
While I walked to the front of the restaurant to wait for the rest of our party the older gentleman returned to our table and apologized to my husband and father in law. Not once did he talk to me, whom he had insulted.
I’d like to know how the woman and husband with three girls knew we were at a certain table to stop and annoy us.
We were waiting before they come into the restaurant, so did they have a reservation ?

Read moreWe dined in on Sunday evening about 6:15pm. I ordered a club wrap white meat only and when I received it, it was a mix of white and dark. I advised the waitress and she took it back. Didn’t even apologies or say sorry. Upon leaving, I had made it a point to go and speak with the manager advising him that it is the waitress’s job to be advising If there is an extra charge for anything. He began to become very defensive and quite frankly very rude. I advised him that I had worked for Swiss chalet and had Office for years, and he still continued to sit and argue with me at the front of the restaurant . I mean, what kind of manager is this? I mean, really Mike LaSalle Sudbury honestly, you need to brush up on your customer service skills, terrible manager. Terrible representation of the recipe brand I am embarrassed for him and the company
Also pissed me off to know that my husband gave this waitress a $12.50 tip. I mean, kudos to her if the tip was deserved, but it was not.
The unfortunate thing is the recipe brand has been going down for years. , when I worked there for 16 years this stuff would never of happeed. The customer service was phenomenal. People just don’t have the customer service skills anymore and recipe itself just doesn’t even seem to care anymore. I’ve had issues in the past and was assured that I would be contacted by the customer service manager, Rhonda Myslik. I’m still waiting to hear back from her since February. As honestly very sad when businesses don’t seem to care about the service that they’re providing and And especially of concerns in regards to cleanliness of locations of there stores. I mean, why have jobs if you’re just gonna let things that are important slipped...
