Update: decided to try this location again. This is what happened.
September 27, 2024 Went here today. As I do at any fast food restaurant, I asked if the chicken was fresh and when it was last dropped. The manager got on the intercom and screamed at me that the chicken is always fresh. I reiterated what I said and he responded that it is non of my business and that he does not have to answer that. He told me if I don't lIke it then go somewhere else. I went inside and asked to speak to him. His staff member said he won't come out. I insisted and he finally came out complaining that I am not allowed to tape him. I was not taping but he kept on insisting that I was. He was sweating perfusly and when he spoke he was foaming at the mouth with saliva spewing out. I stood far enough so I was not hit by his spit.
As I asked him again why he thought it would be proper to behave the way he did and is, he started to retreat to the back. I asked him his name so I can report his behaviour to his head office. He started yelling the stores franchise number. Another employee, a older short heavy lady came out of the back and started pulling him back while telling me to go away. It was extremely immature strange behaviour like kids fighting on the playground. I was embarrassed for them as to how they acted in front of other customers.
On top of their obvious psychological issues, the physical appearance of the manager and the short heavy lady were very off putting. They were overly sweaty and seemed unkept. I think it was a good thing this happened because by the filthy way they looked, it would seem they may be quite nasty when preparing the food.
I left and spent my money else where.
Safe to say I would never go back. Not only because they are extremely unprofessional but they seem to be unkept as well. Looking at their physical appearance it would be safe to say the cooking and kitchen condition most likely is not clean.
Think about why a manager would get upset at a customer for asking if the chicken is fresh. It seems to me that there have been many complaints and he was taking his anger out on me.

I try never giving a bad review as bad as this but sometimes it's necessary. We were a loyal customer but instead of trying to keep our business the manager decided to lose us as customers.
Went there and asked for fresh chicken. Told them I can wait, which I have done in the past. The manager told me no and that the chicken has only been sitting for 30 min. This is not acceptable. Chicken sitting out under a lamp drying out for thirty minutes? Chicken should never be out that long and be sold. Told me they will not be making more chicken for and hour and ten minutes which would mean that this location will keep the chicken sitting out with some pieces over an hour and a half old.
My point being that if a customer wants fresh chicken then they should get fresh chicken. It takes 25 minutes to make fresh chicken and if the customer is willing to wait, they should satisfy their request. If he had done what I asked, he would have made the sale, I would have stayed a customer and while I waited, those customers that came in while I was waiting that don't care if the chicken was sitting around would have still bought the chicken. I will never be back, not because I don't like the chicken, it's because I don't appreciate the lack of care this location has for the customer.
My advise to the manager, change your policy or reviews like the snot and spit one will be taken seriously, not saying it's not a real incident, your attitude just makes it that much more believable.

Read moreWhen it comes to fast food the only thing you can really hope for is consistency, in both food quality and customer service. Especially when comparing this branch with other locations. In this case I was severely disappointed in this location in particular as it's Guelphs newest and yet represents the worst of KFC. This also isnt me going out of my way to be spiteful, i wanted to like it, but it failed in every category. The employees at this location fundamentally misunderstand corporate policy in terms of promotions, food preparation and the online application KFC is trying so hard to promote. The food I received tasted like it was a day old (congealed, cold, greasy and dry) and I tested all the major chicken pieces as well as the sandwich and twister. The salads and gravy had similar issues, especially the gravy. Whoever produced it added way too much water so it had the consistency and colour of sewage with almost no flavour. It's like the individual fry cooks aren't aware of how to follow the basic instructions corporate provides through training. On the customer service side I had to deal with multiple errors in the order which apparently required a manager to fix as none of the employees seemed to know what to do. They were also completely unaware KFC had an application service which confused even me. In conclusion I really couldn't recommend this location ever. Especially when you have two superior locations (Popeyes, Mary Brown's) within 10 minutes. Read moreI wish I had footage to show how horrendous the staff is here. I came on Thursday Dec 7 at 1:30pm to the drive thru before going to work. I drove up to the drive thru speaker, it was dead silent. I said hello several times and got no response. I thought maybe headset was dead or staff was busy for a moment so I went up to the window. I could see a South Asian worker working with a headset. I tried to knock on the window but she completely ignored me and pretended she didn’t see me. So I said screw this I’m going across the street to Burger King. I came back when I finished just to see if anyone was getting served. I saw a car pull in so I came behind them. The car had a south asian driver and her order was taken instantly. I pulled up again once she finished and the worker asked me what I want to order. I asked the worker if this was an act of racism due to me not being from India that she couldn’t answer me or even look at me. She told me yeah have a good day bye.
