Mir Zinger Chicken — Restaurant in Guelph

You know when you're expecting one thing and it's something else? That's what happened. Lol. This was our #1 location and it was sold two weeks prior to our visit. Met the new owners (sorry for spelling - sounded like- "Meer"? and his wife Ann) and they were lovely! Food was fresh. Portions were smaller but sufficient... but the new containers were cute. Didn't feel like the butter chicken was worth the price anymore. They changed the recipe so it has more of a tomato base 😭 which it still was yummy and has a bit more kick than the old recipe!!! Alas... My children wouldn't eat it now. I was looking forward to that thick, creamy butter chicken so was a little disappointed. It was still good! Their samosas were yummy and the same. Popcorn chicken still a family favourite!!! And the masalas chickpea was a little mushier than normal but delicious!!! Zinger Chick is a family owned hidden little gem that has the BEST fried chicken in Guelph! Grab a napkin, you will need it because the chicken is so juicy and the outside has a crunchy batter. The samosa chat and butter chicken is my favourite, it’s so friggin delicious! If you like hot stuff then definitely order your dish “spicy”, you won’t be disappointed. The zinger burger, poutine and fries are a family favourite. The fries have a crispy coating, they are pure goodness. The battered shrimp are really good and battered mushrooms too. If you like dessert, be sure to try the rice pudding. It has a unique flavour with pistachio on top, yummy! And don’t forget to grab a zinger sauce, it’s amazingly delicious with a bit of heat. Just tried here for the first time and wish I could give a 4.7 and give a 5 since they don't deserve 4. I had the biryani with garlic naan and the hubby got the zinger burger with a side of fries, onion rings and gravy. We may have gone a bit overboard. Hehe I loved the biryani and naan and have enough for another meal and snack. The perfect amount of heat for me. Hubby says he'll get the spicy version of the burger next time. The burger is actually chicken strips and the bun was really fresh and good. Lettuce was a bit wilty and he didn't rave about the gravy- why the 4.7. I tasted it and thought it was great.
