Royal Cuisine — Restaurant in Guelph

My son & I visited for the first time & we'll definitely be returning!

The food was absolutely delicious & the portions were HUGE. We ended up with enough food for 2 meals, & it was less then $30.00, including drinks! It's some of the tastiest shawarma I've had in this city & priced so well! The staff were all super friendly as well! It was a very welcoming atmosphere.

My only concern is the cleanliness/state of disrepair of the washroom. While the seating area appeared pristine, the hallway outside the washrooms was cluttered & the floor greasy enough that after going to the washroom, I had to wipe my shoes on the entryway mat as I was sliding all over the floor. Additionally, the bathroom was quite dirty & everything was old & breaking down, including the stall door didn't lock & the hole left from where the lock was supposed to be was filled with toilet paper.

The food was decent. I enjoyed the shrimp souvlaki. Chicken Shawarma didn’t have the right kind of hot sauce in my opinion. The chicken was also on the dry side. The tandoori chicken skewer on the other hand were super delicious. Chicken was juicy and flavorful. The tzatziki was ok and the hummus was amazing. Not the best array of food but not bad either.

Service on the other hand was not great. They were a bit dismissive and not how typical of what you see as customer service in GTA. A kid in our party was slow to finish the food. Although the place closes at 10pm, and we were cognizant of the time (we left the place at 9:55), i am guessing that was not their expectation and they were rushing us almost. I get it, i worked at an ice cream spot and if someone held us up past 10, we would be dinged. But i wouldn’t necessarily express that to the customer. Potentially good if eaten at the restaurant but they have zero clues about packaging for delivery. Tzatziki tasty enough but sent out in containers without lids and a packing box too big for the plastic bag so stacked on it's side in the bag. Ditto for the souvlaki and salad, so driver hands me the two bags and I get upstairs and everything has leaked out into the bags and as you can see in the photos what a mess. Pita stale store bought. Edit: Just opened the salad and rather than proper feta on the Greek salad it was shredded mozza and the lettuce is soggy. File complaint with Uber and they give me a pittance on price of my meal which wasn't cheap. I don't mind paying for good food and delivery but this is disgusting and $50 for the pleasure. If you are going to offer take out/delivery get proper packaging...
