The year is 2022, the world has just been ravaged by a pandemic and a recession looms on the horizon. Gas has hit $2 a litre, climate change is unavoidable, and the human race is on the brink of extinction. Piercing the never-ending gloom and darkness, a golden ray shines. Illuminating an arched entryway flanked by the words San Francisco Panini. Inside angelic beings flitter around the kitchen and cash. It’s at this point it hits you, a long-forgotten scent in the air, could this be hope? Purpose? Destiny? There are others in here with you, they are like you, yet they are different. They hum with excitement, cheeks full of colour, bodies glowing, full as if nourished by the gods themselves. You slink up to the counter, eyes sullen, despair on your lips, dark tendrils pulling at you to leave this place and rejoin the suffocating embrace of unhappiness. You resist and croak out “Veal sandwich with the works.” The angelic beings nod, bathing you in their glory and within moments a large package lays in your hands. The package emanates a soothing wave of calmness. The dark tendrils recoil as if burned. You open the package and the beauty of it brings you to tears. You can feel in your soul that you are on the verge of something great, something bigger than yourself. Pushing forward you take that first bite. Euphoria, elation, exhilaration, jubilation, glee, utter joy these terms are not enough to capture the ecstasy you feel at this moment. Colour returns to the world. Light strips away the darkness inside you. You are complete and the future, after so long, finally, shows promise. But like honestly these sandwiches...

What an incredible find! San Francisco Panini in Guelph serves up fresh and delicious food with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The buns were large, soft on the inside with a perfect crust, and the vegetables were cooked just right—fresh and full of flavor. The sauce was clearly homemade, adding that extra special touch. You absolutely have to order the spicy olives and also the jalapeño sauce. The real highlight, though, was the service. From the moment we walked in, the owner, David, treated us like family. His big smile, generosity, and gratitude toward his customers made the experience truly special. He’s friendly, positive, and genuinely cares that everyone enjoys their meal. I can’t remember ever receiving service like this anywhere else!

On top of that, the restaurant was spotless—including the washrooms, which is always a great sign.

So I have always heard about how amazing these sandwiches were and how friendly and inviting the staff here are . I finally managed to go to this location and let me tell you this place does not disappoint. As soon as I walked in it was spotless. Was greeted with a smile and they were happy to explain the menu options. Veal and steak sandwiches 🤤 omg phenomenal. Was so juicy and the buns were fresh and soft. I was just amazed how good these sandwiches were. Why isn't everyone coming here for these sandwiches! Must and I say must at least try it for yourself at least once in your life. Family environment. Friendly funny staff Amazing food. Go try it ! Now I try to go at least once or twice a week. well worth it. And the best part in Septemeber of 2023 they will be adding crispy fries and alcohol brevages to there menu and I can't absolutely wait for it. We'll done San fransico's two thumbs up and five stars...
