Well Iāve not stood up for myself in awhile and I must say it feels good. I just went in to order a soup at 730pm on a Sunday and first of all I was told I couldnāt sit down. Then the young oriental waitress felt the need to point out ā I heard you complained about me awhile back? ā instead of being sincere and apologizing. It involved another Sunday at supper. Owner was away. Only one waitress running the place that was busy. But still thereās an experienced lady that runs that place like clockwork all by herself when itās busy. So I had to wait over half an hour after I ordered to get food. With 2 small kids waiting who had to go home soon. Listening to this waitress even complain it was her quitting time and ā orders kept coming in!!! ( Gordon Ramsay would have had a hay day with this person.). So I even left a nice tip and didnāt say a word. Next day I mentioned it to a senior waitress in hopes she might teach her abit better. Instead it became a political thing obviously. So guess what? I just walked out. Iād paid for the soup. Iād had enough. Keep your food. Keep my money and your lousy attitude I donāt need it anymore. Weāre done. A person who canāt even offer you a drink or glass of water while youāre eating???
I guess me and my kids werenāt as important as the big tippers eating that night
Itās always about money. Everyoneās always about money.
The owner of this place I must say is very nice thoughā¦.i guess heās not aware how his staff treats people.
In case he supports his waitresses behaviour then he can join the ranks of the respect I have for her at this point but I donāt really hate people.
I donāt like what they do but such is life.
I donāt care if Iām at the bottom of the food chain and if I spend the least there or whatever. In my own eyes I donāt need to feel bad these days.
I have a father dying in a nursing home and Iāve been struggling in a custody battle 9 years and my health is failing but I still take care of 2 little girls and treat them like princesses
I know how to cook. I learned from an Italian mom that can blow away any āgourmet chefā and with rising food costs but still an abundance of restaurants in this city thereās many a place I can go with respectful people who will treat me better than this.
If anyone has anything to say donāt be a coward online. My name is Orobono.
I live at 203 Alma street north in Guelph.
Come talk to me in person.
I helped homeless people and clothed and fed them during Covid when everyone was warm in their homes eating counting money keeping warm.
So unless youāre a person who would take $5 out of their pocket to help someone in need donāt even talk to me.
Enjoy your next meal or snack and have fun counting your money.
They say what goes around comes around.
Understanding people make the world a better place.
Critical people or judgmental people. Well thereās a place for them too.
I may have wasted an hour tonite writing this and complaining and maybe Iām the worlds biggest hypocrite myself.
But Iām not going to let people walk over me anymore or make me feel bad.
Iām 57 years old. Not 5.7 years old.
Iāve taken care of more people since most people were in diapers.
And I repeat. I support children. Womenās rights. Homeless people. I advocate for foreigners and elderly people.
And when I feel Iām right Iām not worried about anyone.
Being a Christian thereās one rule that guides everything I do.
And being raised by tough love maybe itās time I started...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIm not one to write reviews, as you can see, but feel like this should be shared. Ill try to keep it short.
We order from here regularly. While I find their portions small for the price compared to competitors the food is decent. I would give it a 3.5 if not for this experience which drops then to a 2.
A couple weeks ago I ordered 2 full souvlaki meals and 2 kids meals. I found a long dark hair in the kids food. Honestly I said āah it happensā and was prepared to let it go. I disposed that dish and went to serve the rest. As Im serving the rest ANOTHER hair is in the other souvlaki rice. At this point Im disgusted. I had a guest over who I had spoke highly about this restaurant to and felt ridiculous. I told her I have to call them. So I did.
I was told āIm sorry bring the food back and we will replace it.ā So now I have to drive back (about 10 mins each way). I disposed of the order completely assuming a whole new order would be made. Nope. Only the two specific dishes the hairs were in. So the penalty for serving multiple hair in their food is just a remade dish?
The WORST part is, on the phone I was told to bring back the food. My wife said why would they want the food back? I gave them the benefit of the doubt and said I dont think they actually want the food back theyre just saying come back and we will replace your order. Nope. Walked in and I was asked where the old food is⦠Uhhh why? For what reason would you want it back? For hair dna analysis? Its covid times, you want to take my food back into your kitchen? Perhaps to what PROVE theres a hair in there? Im a frequent customer and was recognized as such so if it was for proof ok maybe but still disgusting and odd during covid.
My wife was now more upset and called back. We were told a manager would call us back asap. Its been a coulple weeks, no call back.
Thoroughly disappointed and will never return after...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI dined at Souvlaki Flame once not long ago, and my experience was very good. The emblazoned sign had been calling to me for several months before I finally opted to dine there. When I headed into the restaurant I seen that there was only 1 customer in the entire place, and my friend quipped to me, how I have said that if a restaurant is empty, it's because the food isn't very good. However it turns out that was not true this time. The waitress informed me that we had just missed the dinner rush, fine by me. The decor was detailed, warm, and fairly elegant. It's quite a nice looking place from inside. The waitress was simple, but friendly and helpful.
Now, the food! I ordered a souvlaki dinner, which came with one skewer of chicken, a huge bed of rice, a couple greek style potatoes, and greek salad. The food was fresh and served hot. I enjoyed it very much, however I've always found Greek food on the plainer side, and this was in line with that experience.
For me, the rice bed was too much, and one skewer of meat too little, but all in all there was more than enough food to fill any man up.
I would rather see a reorientation so that the meal offers more of what we really want (those delicious skewers/greek salad), and less rice, which is a filler.
I'll definitely return and look forward to trying other items on the menu, but due to the prices, this will not be a place that I frequent, but more of a semi formal dining experience, when I'm really in the mood for Greek, or for an occasion.
(note: the prices were not super high, but I'm a very...
