Bulk Barn — Restaurant in Halifax

Great place. Cool staff that are always willing to help, and should hella unionize & demand pay that reflects how independently they work and their skill recognizing products without labels (one employee was able to tell the difference between yogurt covered cranberries and yogurt covered raisins/peanuts at a glance - truly supernatural).

I've learned to go there assuming they have something if it's at all possible to carry it in bulk containers. They have multiple kinds of parmesan cheese. They have ranch dip. I cannot emphasize enough how many times I've had double takes at the things they stock.

Wish their bike parking were located a little closer to the entrance and placed a little further away...

I just LOVE this place to pieces!!! Both Bulk Barns in Halifax have an AMAZING variety of things you can purchase in bulk - including stuff like "raw" cacao bits and pieces (no sugar at all: a chocolate experience unlike any chocolate bar!) and hemp hearts that are difficult in the extreme to find elsewhere around here. CLEAN, with exceptionally helpful staff. I HEARTILY...

They now allow you to bring in your own containers. Much less waste! Good selection

The one thing that I don't like about bulk barn is you need to be careful about getting stale nuts and other things. It would be nice if they could let you know what is freshly stocked and what has been sitting...
