Jenny's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Halifax

I've eaten here probably 30-40 times over the last five years. The best was weekday breakfast after 7am when it was quiet and relaxing. The place changed their hours to 8am about a year ago or so, and I'd have to be at work by then, so haven't been able to get back for that. But have gone for a couple of lunches and it's consistently decent. Today I was there with a friend for lunch and we were able to get the last available booth out of four (which are more comfortable than the wooden chairs at the tables). During these covid times of half capacity, there were probably ten more tables in place, and three or four of those were taken. Friendly service. My haddock burger with fries was fine, nothing overly memorable, but zero complaints. The fish did seem fresh vs frozen, whether or not that's true, I do not know. My friend's hot hamburger sandwich had a good amount of gravy, the meat looked formed into a thick burger patty to me, but he said it was satisfying and flavorful. Overall, this isn't one of my favorite spots in HRM for a meal, but I'd go anytime anyone wanted to because it's not...

First let me say the food was excellent however the service was terrible. Here's a quick recap..... 1 they forgot our order, we had to ask for it again 2 they messed my son's order up by putting the wrong toppings on 3 we ordered 1 plate of fries and got fries on all of our plates 4 10 ft from where I was sitting was the kitchen. Some guy guy came in with his dog and stood there in front of the kitchen having a beer while the waitresses, kitchen staff and owner was rubbing and patting the dog. 5 i went to pay for my food. Another waitress takes me takes me up enters my bill and then walks off leaveing me there at the debit terminal to take care of the rest.

They were sorry about the fry mixup. Not a great...

The food was ok ...mom had the hot turkey sandwich with sweet potato fries and was ok with it ...the server said that the cranberry sauce has been sitting in the kitchen for months..I don't know if she was lying or just didn't want to get it for her...she also didn't check up on us to ask if we needed anything else.....my gf had the fish and chips but didn't finish as the batter on the fish wasn't cooked through and crisp when you bite...and I had the double Jenny burger ....it was good but not the best burger iv had ....at the end our server showed up with the bill and was obviously annoyed that we didn't tip her enough....like comon tips are based on service mor or less and your service ...
