Uncle Bucks Pizzeria — Restaurant in Halifax

Oh my! What a wonderful surprise! I popped in to pick up a pizza "or something" on the way home. I've driven by Uncle Buck's many times, but I do not live in the area. I was completely taken back when I walked in the door, in a good way! There was so much going on. A huge sub counter. A pizza section and a funky ice cream section like I've never seen before! So many different kinds of milkshakes and similar ice cream things. Can't wait to try fizzy milkshakes!

The restaurant is "subtly" split in two, with the famous Tanner Deli and the ice cream products on one side, and the well Respected Uncle Buck's Pizza products on the other. Lots of comfy seating!

So much on the menu to choose from. I ordered a pizza. Donair pizza with pineapple and extra sauce. The pizza was really good, it did not come with donair sauce on the bottom of the pizza, but you could ask for it drizzled on top if you like. Two containers of donair sauce came standard and I ordered an extra one. (Please don't "judge" on the pineapple :-) The pizza was ready quickly. There were many customers in the store, coming and going. Lots of staff members serving. Even though the staff were busy, at least three staff members asked me if they could help in any way. The staff were honest and genuine and seemed to be very concerned about helping me pick up something that I would really like. The staff were a mixture of ages and in some way resembles a large family as they were so positive in their interactions with each other. This may be true of many pizza places for sure, but this restaurant seems to have something special and different going on. Having worked in the pizza business as a younger person, I could see the wise choices that the owners made in organization, product choices and quality!

Do not get the Uncle Bucks Birthday Party Package for your kids!! The convenience of getting pizza and cake delivered is not worth it! Get your cake & pizza somewhere else, it’s a special day and kids deserve the best – Uncle Bucks does not care about their customers. I made the mistake of ordering this package for my sons 7th birthday and due to a communication error it arrived 45min late (party was over 15min later). When I contacted the owner to provide feedback on how to improve party offerings and ordering process he accused me numerous times of providing the wrong date plus he was very rude and unprofessional.He cannot take any critism. There was no special compensation offered not that I wanted it – I just wanted to make sure no other kids had this happen to them.

Uncle Bucks believes the Spryfield community will take advantage of his cheap party package so they have a requirement to provide ID to prove your child’s birthdate. Having to prove the birthdate is what I believed caused the error, they wrote down his birthday as the delivery day. I was not shown the form to verify all details were correct and that is why they missed his party! But of course the customer is to blame, not the poor staff feeling very rushed (when I could have simplify filled out the form myself and no confusion). Also a word of warning, the plates they provide are the ugly cardboard plates you get a slice of pizza on, not great for a kids party. Thankfully I had my own. I also had a cake topper and my own candles since I have no idea what the cake would look like – they don’t have any pictures which should have...

It wasn't until I ate pizza from UNCLE BUCKS that I actually enjoyed pizza!! Sooo good! I refuse to buy pizza anywhere else because it's always a hit or miss. At UNCLE BUCKS, you see &taste the difference in the fresh ingredients. They make pizza with the right kind of balance. AND THE PRICES?! WOW! I can't find another pizza place with this good of prices!! They also have other menu items besides pizza too. All the food is fresh, most is handmade and you taste the dofference, and always ALWAYS delicious with great portion sizes. I clearly LOVE the food here. Since renovations where they built a wall in between the sandwich shop next door and uncle bucks, there is nonlonger a place to sit&eat. Theyre a take out or delivery place. SPEAKING OF DELIVERY!! ❤️They do offer it & you won't find them on UBEREATS or Skip etc.. They have their own delivery driver. You can order on their website, by calling or stopping by. The proces are wayyyy cheaper than any pizza promo youll find on those apps. When a local restaurant isn't on those kinda apps and are as busy AS this shop is, THATS when you known it's GOOOD FOOOOOOD! The staff are great and since it's a small well-known shop, the staff are BUSY BUSY BUSY. You seriously do NOT see them stop. But they'll have you in and out within 5 minutes with a smile on their face and some good humor once you build up rapport with them! The staff work hard and that's because they take pride in the shop so LEAVE A GOOD TIP% HERE BECAUSE THEY DESERVE IT!! 10/10☆ +then some more stars 💯 A+ 👍 I love...
