Madisons Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Halton Hills

We attended for a mother's day brunch and the restaurant was not busy at the time of our arrival. We placed our orders with the waiter, I ordered the steak and eggs and had to remind him of how I wanted it cooked (he was not even going to ask) as well my eggs.

By the time we ordered there were 5 tables with guests and two already had their orders so one would think that a steak meal and two waffle meals should really not take that long. 20+ minutes later our food came out which is also the next time we saw our waiter.

My steak was order as a medium rare and came out BLUE.. not sure how anyone messes that up.. also my eggs were cold which leads me to believe my food sat in the back waiting for the waiter to arrive from where ever we was.

I tried to wave down the waiter but he always seemed to be looking somewhere else and seemed to me he was trying to avoid us. By the time he arrived the other meals where already half done so having a nice meal was out of the question.

Decided to just order the waffles as I'm sure they can't be messed up.

I think the other issue I had was typically at any other restaurant when your meal has been ruined and by that I mean anything from undercooked or cold or just not what you wanted a manager would typically come by to apologize. Not once did anyone come by the table to apologize. I wasn't looking for a discount or anyting free but it would be nice to at least have someone recognized the problems that we're coming out of that kitchen.

That was the last time that I would go there for any food I would actually prefer to go into the fast food section of the mall to pick up something to eat because it's obviously more reliable then what...

MISLEADING ADVERTISING My husband and I went shopping at the Milton Outlets and we decided to come to this restaurant because of an advertisement we saw as we were walking by “Buy one meal, get one 50% off”. The advertising was showcasing a photo of an appetizing burger, which we both wanted to order. We were seated at the table and when we ordered the burger, we were told they didn’t have any. Misleading hint #1. We heard another group of people ordered the same thing and when they heard there weren’t any burgers they left the restaurant. We decided to stay and order something else. Before ordering we asked if the promotion we saw outside was valid ( buy one meal, get one 50%off) and they says yes, with the condition that we had to buy a drink each. Misleading hint #2. We ended up getting one drink each + our meals. As we were eating we had flies flying around us and our food. We rushed our meal, as we were very uncomfortable and totally disappointed with all this. The server charged us for the 2 meals full price. We had to bring the promotion to his attention to have our bill adjusted. I do not think its fair to pass though so many misleading scenarios to have a meal.

At the end we rechecked the advertisement outside and it did not say the promotion had to include a drink per person.

To the owners: Don’t falsely advertise to bring honest people in to your restaurant. We felt cheated and annoyed to have to pass though this while trying to keep the flies away.

What a terrible dining experience! This place is toxic. From the moment my friends and I walked into this poor excuse of an establishment, we felt uncomfortable with the behaviours of the short, brown-haired waiter. He constantly made off-putting and sexualized comments. He only spoke directly to my two white female friends and at no point did he acknowledge me (a woman of colour) except when taking my order. This was glaringly racist behaviour and juding by the other reviews, it looks like other diners have experienced the similar racist behaviour. I have never witnessed such disrespectful and unprofessional behaviours from waitstaff in all of my dining experiences.

This wasn’t the only thing that put a bad taste in our mouths; the food (fish tacos, chicken wings and chicken salad) was mediocre and tasteless. My friends and I were absolutely appalled and would NEVER eat there again. Avoid this place at all costs, especially if you’re a racial minority. What a disgrace!

*Edit: I followed up with my complaint via email provided below. Management did not take any action nor get back to me. Don’t bother following up with them, as they obviously don’t care about their standards of service and this is clearly reflected in the several poor reviews. It blows my mind that this place...
