The Whistle Stop Acton — Restaurant in Halton Hills

If i could give no stars i would but only for one single reason, which is quite sad because this resturaunt would be great if there wasn't a extremely rude woman working as a waitress there. Right from the beginning of our visit we were spoken to very passive aggressively, then when we thanked her she didn't even say a word, and that happened about 7 times during the time here. At the end of our visit we were unsure of how to pay and so we approached her and excused ourselves politely to try and get her attention and she replied "Im doing something give me a second" with a horrid tone and as we continue to apologize she interrupts and says "go pay up front". Every other staff member was great, she ruined the entire experience and very obviously others too as I had the pleasant opportunity to observe how she spoke to other guests as well and the look on their faces when she left after taking their orders were almost laughable. I suggest if you want business and customers who don't feel extremely uncomfortable in your restaurant you need to kick this woman to the curb asap because she is the most unpleasant person i've ever met in my entire life. I was expecting a good experience here based on reviews and word of mouth but ours wasnt pleasant. We got sat fairly quick but had to wait awhile for menus. The table beside us also waited about 5 to 10 minutes for menus before deciding to get them for themselves. I had only recieved one of my drinks when I gave my drink order. I asked 4 times for it throughout our stay but never recieved it. The cook who brought us our food kind of just tossed it on the table and ran away without caring to properly place it down.When we got our food there was a mistake on the toast but we never saw our server again to say anything. The bacon we got wss undercooked and eggs were cold.

People were waiting for about 10 minutes or more to be seated without being acknowledged. They didnt have large sized glasses so water came in child sized cups and all drinks come bottled like convenience stores. Milk is in cartons. The food is delicious but I felt unwelcome here. I was visiting my sister and nephews who have lived in Acton for almost 20 years and always talk about how much they love Whistle Stop 🛑. We came here for brunch today. The host asked us to wait 20 mins for a table of 5. We were so thankful when we were told to go inside. The host said, “Ok guys!” We walked ourselves to the table. When we got there, a blonde lady with her husband and son gave us the worst stare. I smiled back at her and she still kept the angry, unimpressed stare. She clearly didn’t want us there. It was uncomfortable to the point that her son looked down. One of our guests also noticed her staring as we came to the table. I just wanted to enjoy this time with my family over a nice coffee.
