A1 serves some if the best wings and poutine in the Delta and Crown Point neighborhood.
I've ordered takeout twice from A1, and the food was thoroughly satisfying on both occasions. On the the first occasion, I ordered the Taco Beef Poutine. Fries were solid and the toppings had loads of favour. There was plenty of the sauce without it being too much. My poutine was made to order and fresh. On my second visit, I ordered 1.5lbs of Cajun chicken wings an me a side of Cajun fries. The wings and fries were both crispy sand well seasoned. Similar to my first experience, food was fresh and hot. I think it's worth trying both the poutine and wings from A1, if you haven't already.
The dining area is nothing special, but it's clean. I think it's understandable that A1 hasn't invested in the dining area because I suspect the majority their business is takeout or delivered by food delivery services.
On my second visit, I met who I assumed was the owner, based on the way he spoke about the business. He was a nice guy with good customer service, and is actively looking for feedback to improve customer experience.
I recommend ordering on A1's website or via phone before heading to pickup your food because the food is...
Read moreTried medium bbq breaded wings and a poutine. Wings were good, lots of sauce, the sauce had the perfect amount of spice for a medium bbq wing and they were cooked well. I’ll give the wings a solid 7.5/10. Was very disappointed by the poutine. A lot of takeout places I expect frozen fries, but for a place that has “poutine” in their name I expected more. Most poutine places use fresh cut fries, but these were frozen fries, either the cavendish crispy coated fries or a similar brand. They were swimming in a crazy amount of gravy. There was so much gravy that the fries literally swam in it, and it made the fries go soggy. I had to pour half the gravy out and it was still too much gravy. The gravy tasted fine and there was ample cheese, but I guess the biggest disappointment was the frozen fries at a place that is supposed to be known for poutine. Poutine was 3/10. I would go back but skip the poutine and just do wings. Guy at the counter was friendly and the price was fair. I just expected fresh fries from a place that is supposed to specialize in poutine. Nothing wrong with gravy or cheese, but the access amount of gravy and the frozen fries were a huge disappointment. I’ll be back for...
Read moreTreated my father to this place for father's day as we were both craving poutines and gotta say it was great value! I got the small classic poutine as I wanted to see how the fries and gravy were before committing to the pricier options, but my dad got the small buffalo chicken poutine. We were both full when we finished and I will definitely be getting this again in the future!
Only things wrong are:
Other than those nitpicks the place was perfect, the quality of the poutine and the serving size were great, and I'm looking forward to eating...
