Got gas lit at Arby’s It’s been years since I’ve been to Arby’s, but saw an add for the “Grand Turkey Club” sandwich and it was just calling my name so I decided to give her a go. I went through the drive through, when I got my order I just parked there to eat because I was starving. I noticed the Turkey sandwich looked like it didn’t have cheese on it. (It’s supposed to come with Swiss cheese) I pulled the ENTIRE sandwich apart and looked through all the ingredients to make sure I wasn’t missing it, and indeed, there was no cheese. I drove back to the drive through window, because it’s just not the same without the cheese!! The conversation went as follows..
Me: Hi, it seems they forgot to put cheese on the sandwich Arby’s employee #1: oh, really? *looks behind her at employee #2 (who was standing close by and heard me) Employee #2: (in a snarky, snapping, defensive tone) I put cheese on it!!! Me: Hands employee #1 the bag and invites them to have a look at the sandwich for proof. Employee #1 I don’t think we can take the food back Me: Well you’re saying there is cheese on it and I’m saying I looked through the sandwich and didn’t see any cheese so then look at the sandwich yourself if you don’t believe me. Employee #1 takes the bag
After some discussion amongst several employees employee #1 returns to the window.
Employee #1: We are going to make you a whole new sandwich Me: Thank you Employee #3 approaches the window, whom I’m assuming was the manager. “Hi there, so we are making you a new sandwich but just to let you know, it’s a HOT sandwich so sometimes the cheese melts and it’s hard to see” Me: That’s strange because I looked throughly to make sure I wasn’t missing it and am certain there was not cheese. Employee 3: Ya it’s just really hard to see but we did put cheese on it, but that’s ok we’ll make you a new one anyway. Me: Did you look at the sandwich I gave you back? There was no cheese on it. Employee #3: No, we didn’t look at the sandwich Me: 🤦♀️🤷♀️ Employee 3: Walks away 1 min later Employee #3 returns. Hands me the new sandwich and says “so we did have a look through the sandwich and it was hard to see but there was cheese on it. Me: Feeling super confused at this point because I know what I saw, or didn’t see. So again I repeated, “that’s strange I sifted through each ingredient one by one and I’m certain there was no cheese. Employee #3: Ya so when the girl made the sandwich she flipped the ingredients a weird way and so the cheese was just hiding but it was there Me: 🙄 ok then, thanks so much Leaves with the newly made sandwich thinking maybe they used a secret disappearing cheese, when it melts it just disappears without a trace!
People, there is no mistaking cheese, even if melted!! Am I right!? There is ether cheese there, or there isn’t. When I opened the second sandwich there was a big slice of processed Swiss cheese. There was NO mistaking it!!! It was an obvious piece of cheese. No way I would have missed it the first time. The irony of the whole thing is that nether of the sandwiches I received were HOT!!! They were cool to luke warm at best. The cheese on the second one never even melted completely.
Why is it so hard for people to just say sorry we missed that. I have received incorrect food orders countless times from restaurants, it’s to be expected, but never in my life has the establishment flat out denied their mistake like that. It’s so weird. They made such a big stink about a sandwich that probably cost them less them $2 to make. All the employees seemed to have a rude/cold undertone. Disappointing, because the sandwich was actually good but I won’t return because of...
Read moreOne of the women working at the drive thru tried to rip my mom off multiple times within the span of a couple minutes by giving her incorrect change, and not showing her a receipt (even though she was holding it). My mom kept her change in her hand, double checked how much it was with the woman and realized the change was over $3 short. She told her this, and the woman tried to give her just $2 back. My mom corrected her again. She didn't even apologize, just got rude instead. It seemed that it was definitely done intentionally. My mom spoke to the manager about this, and she said there was no way it could or would have happened because "the employees are constantly on video recording". She basically told her that she didn't believe her, and she seemed completely unconcerned. $3 isn't exactly a ton of money, but it's the principal that a worker repeatedly tried to rip her off to line her own pockets, and the manager didn't care at all. Plus acted like my mom was lying on top of it. Too bad because we have been there a couple times since they opened and the food is usually good. Please count your change carefully if you go to this location so you don't end up with some of your...
Read moreWent through the drive-thru. Ordered the 2 for $10 special. We got the deluxe. When we got home we found both sandwiches were stone cold. We were in a hurry as we had appointments to go to so decided just to make the best of it by deconstructing the sandwiches and lightly microwave it. When my daughter took a small bite she discovered that the bun of her sandwich had a smell of old bread. My daughter then asked me to try it and I could smell it even before I took the bite. This bun was definitely old and either near to or past its best before date. We all know that smell from bread products that are old and are on the verge of mold. We had to throw the sandwich out and share the one sandwich which was just a little better. I was very disappointed as we occasionally come here after swimming as it makes a nice light lunch. I will not be returning for awhile as it put me off. I will go to subway instead which is next...
