This restaurant does not honour their printed prices.
We came in, sat down, and asked to see a menu. After looking at the prices for a la carte vs. all you can eat, 17.99 for weekend lunch, our group of four decided we wanted to do all you can eat.
When our bill came, we were surprised to see they had charged us 21.99 each. We brought this up to the server who got a manager to speak with us. He explained that the menus were old and the prices inaccurate, and that we were expected to have noticed the correct prices on the wall near the entrance.
We explained that we had made our decision based on the menus the restaurant had provided, and that we expected them to honour the prices. We also explained that it’s their responsibility to ensure the prices are accurate, or at least to inform the customer. We went back and forth for 15 minutes.
We flat out said we refused to pay, and that they would have to adjust the bill. The manager explained that he had no way of adjusting the prices, which I do not believe. He tried to guilt us by saying the money would be coming out of our poor server’s paycheque.
They ended up offering us a single free lunch coupon, which we then had to split between four people. We ended up paying the 21.99 each and making off with the coupon, since it was worth more cash than we were out as a group.
This was a seriously unprofessional response to the restaurant’s own error, and it was not fixed in a satisfactory way. We should have been offered an apology for the restaurant’s error, and the restaurant should have honoured their printed prices.
If you are going to this restaurant, grab an a la carte menu and ask them to honour the all you can eat price on it. Good luck! If enough people complain, perhaps these cheapskates will pay a couple bucks to get some new...
Read moreI'm just going to start with I will not be going to this location any more, this is usually my restaurant of choice as the food is good and most of the time the workers are friendly, but after my last visit I will not be returning to this location. Me and 2 friends went out for lunch. first issue :my one friend ordered 2 sushi rolls and it took 58 minutes to get. second issue : the system had crashed and that was fine what ever right but we had our servers switched out and the one we got was very unprofessional she came over and we said it wasn't working we did not know at the time that the system crashed and she rolled her eyes at us and took her tablet then she turned around and threw our tablet at the table and I almost fell over fast forward about half an hour the system was finally back up and running and my friends said to the waitress hey it's working now the waitress looked her in the eye rolled her eyes at her and said "no really" and walked away (didn't even take the dishes off our table). Issue #3: our waitress whom refilled our drinks several times without even having to ask what kind of pop is was she already knew had just refilled my friends drink and it was half gone and the waitress walked over and poured water into her cup and walked away without us even having a chance to say anything. Issue #4 shorty after the watter incident the manager came over and told us it was Final Call mind you we got there at 12 and this was at 1:30 and lunch doesn't end until 3:30 so I personally felt attacked by that. I paid my bill and did not tip as a did not feel like the waitress should have been tipped so from now on I will be going to the one...
Read moreIt’s an AYCE Japanese and Dim Sum place. It’s an order on tablet and they bring the small plates to your table. The service was friendly - they cleared the plates quickly, refilled waters and delivered the food quick.
Here are the NEGATIVES.
The biggest thing that irked me is the surcharge for using your credit card. You can use debit with no surcharge. Or cash and get 6% discount. I see this with Asian restaurants the most. This is a scammy way to treat customers. As a business owner, terminal fees should be part of your business expense. Charging a 2+% is greater than what the terminal charges the business - you are making extra at the expense of your customers.
The food is NOT WORTH the price. We had dinner for $42+ a person. They offer, at most, 5 different fish. For that price, I expect more options. They don’t even have Mackeral or Yellowtail, which are considered basic fishes that most Japanese AYCE restaurants should offer. Instead, they have various different ways to serve salmon and/or eel.
The hot foods are average at best. The fried rice is bland. The dumplings, doesn’t matter which on you get (soupy or momo) it’s the same thing, one spicy, one not. Like I mentioned before, they recycle the same items and prepare it in different ways to give you the illusion they offer more to justify the expensive price.
Due to the credit card surcharge and the below average food items, we will NEVER return. This place reminds me of Wind but...
