This was our 3rd time to this particular Boston Pizza. The first 2 times we went, we had exceptional service and food. We tried the one in Burlington and wasn't pleased and raved about the one in Ancaster so hence our reason for going back to this one tonight. But as soon as we walked in, there was no one around and we waited to be seated for about 7 mins. Finally someone showed and seated us. Then it took about 20 mins for some guy to ask us if we wanted drinks. We assumed it was our waiter but after getting our water, it took about another 15 mins for Paige our waitress to finally come and ask us if we were ready to order. No introduction, no greeting, nothing. We shrugged it off but the whole atmosphere of the restaurant seemed off. There were plenty of empty tables and many dirty ones that had not been cleared off yet. Finally some man came out from behind the kitchen and started to clean them off. Low and behold as time moved along we found out it was Jazz the manager cleaning off the tables. Then it seemed like everyone finally started their shift to work because Ashton and another girl were busting and moving about to help. Our food was disappointing tonight and the quality not as it was. The mild sauce on my chicken fingers was the most spiciest I have ever had. I couldn't get the burn to leave my mouth for awhile. But they did cook me new chicken fingers without sauce which was great but they need to tone down the spices for sure. All in all the reason for this review is not because of the food, it's because of the service. But what really upset us was how Paige reacted when watching over me using the debit machine and her reaction to me not leaving a tip. I will not tip for an unpleasant service. We are well known at some of our favourite restaurants as we tip $20 for a $30 meal due to awesome service! You earn your tip with pleasantries and great customer service. Paige didn't check on us at all. Then after we paid, I remembered about the Tuesday all day pasta special being offered all of January and checked our bill. She never gave us the discount. So Jazz the manager saw me discussing with the girl at the front door and rectified the over charge. We are just disappointed with how poorly our service was handled tonight and hoping that this review is seen and things can be rectified. Doubt we...
Read moreWe probably waited five minutes at the front desk before someone came and told us to sit anywhere we liked. We gave our drink order and food order at the same time. Fifteen minutes later the server came to say our drinks would be ready shortly (I wonder where the bar tender was?) Our meals arrived ten minutes later. I ordered Nachos which had obviously been sitting out for a while, they were no longer hot and the cheese had solidified already. My husband's meal (spaghetti and meatballs) was fine. Whole we were there we could barely hear ourselves talk because of loud "music" - no idea what genre but it sounded like a female rapping. We asked for take home containers and you would think that would be a hint that we would like the bill however we had to request the bill when she brought the containers. We paid cash $100.00 for an $80 bill. I didn't feel the food or the service warranted a 20% tip and requested change. It took the waitress another ten minutes to come up with some $5 bills and loose change. I know most people pay by drbit or credit but we prefer to pay cash and restaurants should be prepared for this. This is not the first time we have had to wait at the entrance for several minutes before someone took us to a table; nor is it the first time the "music" has been loud and unrecognizable and definitely not the first time for food to arrive. We have had the same problem at the Upper James location which is why we switched to the Ancaster location. I think we will be going...
Read moreWent to this location last night with friends since it is new in the area and we wanted to check it out. The biggest issue I had with my dinner was watching who I assume were the owners of the place?? A man in a suit and woman with short hair, they stood out as they were on edge the whole night. They seemed to have a very short fuse with all the workers and I watched as the female was giving every worker a hard time. It was obvious, as she seemed to have a rude look on her face my whole dinner. Both owners were watching everyone like hawks and my friends and I spend most of our dinner annoyed by these two people who seemed extremely negative. What really put us over the edge was the fact that during the busiest point of the day, the dinner rush, the male owner was literally vaccuuming chunks of food off the floor below tables. I was trying to enjoy my dinner and this man had a loud vacuum and was walking around using it, like??? I am also certian that I am not the only one that noticed these two people during my dinner, as several other customers all seemed very confused as to what the purpose of these people being present was. They did not even consider the fact that customers may have been observing them being veryyyy...
