Wimpys Diner — Restaurant in Hamilton

Horrible experience truly. I think this has got to be the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The place itself was cute and decorated nicely and I was very happy upon arriving. Things went downhill as soon as our waitress came. I ordered chicken and waffles and asked for the sauce specifically on the side and said to her I don’t like when it is soggy so to please have it on the side and she said yes so it was so far so good. Then she brought the whole table of food out except mine which I understood as chicken takes longer so no problem there. But when it came out the sauce was all on top so I kindly told her I asked for it on the side and she didn’t offer to fix it, basically looked at me like “well too bad take it now that it’s here”. I asked her to get it redone how I had asked (because this dish is also $20) and she was so hesitant, said it would take a while in annoyance and then proceeded to roll her eyes at me which multiple people saw as well even the table beside. I was upset about this since I was very kind and she didn’t try to make the situation any better whatsoever. I ended up cancelling the order completely to which she barley even responded and just turned her back to me. When she came back for the bills she still charged me for the coffee I was served which was in my opinion ridiculous. She messes up my order, was so rude when I asked if it could be fixed, it got to the point I cancelled the order and sat there an hour and a half with no food and proceeded to not even comp my coffee? Absolutely horrible. The waitress I had was older with her hair in a ponytail taking care of the tables in the back of the restaurant, I wish I asked her name but forgot. Whoever she is I hope she improves for the future because this was a terrible experience, if I could give negative stars I would....

I've gone to this place plenty of times and each time I've had a decent experience.

The place is kept clean and tidy and I love the decor

Service is hit and miss however. I've had both really attentive wait staff and also wait staff that seem to have forgotten about us. Sometimes they forget condiments but they always apologize and get them for us. Also one time the waitress got my order wrong but she quickly went and fixed the mistake and I could clearly hear her telling the cooks it was her mistake so I appreciate the honesty.

The two main things I get is the classic breakfast or the burger melt if I'm there for lunch/dinner. The eggs are always cooked nicely and the toast is never burnt. Sausages are cooked nice as well. As a side note my little sister likes hers butterflied and they always do it for her so that's nice. There coffee is hit and miss though.

The burger melt is always on point. I add mushrooms to it and they, along with the onions are cooked perfectly. Fries are decent but nothing to write home about.

Overall it's a nice place to go. More times then not I have a good time and good experience and have never left feeling ripped off or mad. Easily...

I have gone here several times and gotten good food and decent service, until recently. We were served at first by a waitress that did not seem to know what she was doing. She brought us drinks eventually, my husband's glass had a chunk of butter or something right on the rim. A different waitress came back after we waited for about 15 minutes! Our initial waitress was chatting it up with some other customers and paying no attention to our table. Ourselves and the other customers were literally the only people in the place. Or food came after a long wait and it was just terrible. The omelette I got turned me off of omelettes for probably the rest of my life. It was that disgusting. The eggs weren't even mixed together or cooked. Just smashed and served gooey on a pile of undercooked breakfast potatoes. Straight up sickening. My family also did not enjoy their meals. It seemed like the cook just slapped it together lazily. I will never be returning to this wimpys or any other location. If I eat at a restaurant and it makes me feel that sick afterward I can never go back...
