Go Tango Ancaster — Restaurant in Hamilton

You can read the review below but I want to update the situation. The owner/manager called me directly and was extremely apologetic. He explained what happened and offered us a full free meal. I understand in this day in age it is very hard to be in the restaurant business and these reviews hurt them. It is satisfying that the owner reached out discussed the issue and is offering to fix the problem. Everyone makes mistakes but how it is handled afterwards is what sets good business owners aside, for this I am giving it them a 5☆.

My wife went to Go Tango for take out for our family. She called in the order 30 minutes prior and ordered the family meal plan including 3 chicken shawarma and one falafel wraps. They took the order and said it would be ready in 30 minutes for when she arrived. Once she got there they started pushing a bunch of extra salad as falafel on her. She was confused but excepted, took the first few bags to the car and when she came back for the rest the staff then said they were out of chicken shawarma and had given us 3 falafel and a beef instead. We found this to be very odd and surprised as to why they would just try to substitute what we ordered for whatever they had left over. After refusing to accept their leftovers they agreed to make chicken shawarma but just basically fried some chicken up and threw it in. It is quite infuriating that they would just ignore what we ordered and give us just whatever. Had they told us they were out of chicken we could have made choice, no problems at all. We paid nearly $70 for a bunch of extra food we will end up throwing out because it doesn't last overnight. We normally love this place and it is upsetting to write a poor review but this was a bit too much. Great food but just be leery when ordering...

I wish I can do Zero-star rating on google. I had high expectations before giving this place a try because of it being highly rated and had an appealing website.

However, I go their and experience the worst customer service, so slow, barely speaks English, and the order come wrong, we were served the food of another table and it took a while of explaining that to the waitress till she understood.

Then Our food finally came, very small portions and shockingly without bread on the side which we had to make a request for , the garlic sauce with my chicken shawarma was watery, the chicken has no spices and my husband's rice was so greasy that he couldn’t finish, we wasted 32$ that we could’ve totally saved sticking to paramount authentic food rather than going on this adventure. Went here on the recommendation of a neighbor. I have to say she was right to recommend it. While the server had a bit of trouble speaking clearly the food was outstanding. My mother and sister got the Shwarma poutine, my other sister got the chicken Shwarma wrap and I got the zinger chicken sandwich. We all loved the food. The portion sizes were huge for us and the three of them had leftovers for dinner. The poutine was warm and had melty cheese with a awesome amount of chicken. The Shwarma was amazing and well made. My sandwich had nice chicken, a toasty bun and the right amount of sauce. The best part in my opinion was the fries. Crisp cooked and seasoned well.
