After a year, I suddenly found myself craving a good piece of cake. I stood in the plaza for nearly an hour, tired of the same tasteless, soulless food options all around. That’s when I noticed the COBS Bread sign. A quick search online confirmed I was in the right spot, and the photos made me excited to try their banana chocolate cake. I walked in with high hopes and carefully scanned the entire display while waiting in line. But when it was my turn, I couldn’t see the cake anywhere. I asked the young man at the counter—who, by the way, was incredibly polite and warm—if they had the banana chocolate cake. With a gentle smile, he told me it was no longer available and had been discontinued. A little disappointed, I ordered a cinnamon scone instead. But then something truly unexpected happened. He handed me the scone and said, “This is your gift today. No need to pay.” In that moment, something shifted. It wasn’t about the free scone—it was about kindness, generosity, and a rare sense of connection. That simple act felt like more than just good customer service. It was human, sincere, and deeply appreciated. It felt as if he saw beyond the transaction—like he knew I needed a little lift that day. Thank you to that incredible young man. Your gesture turned an ordinary visit into a memorable experience. I’ll carry it with me, and because of you, COBS Bread will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Bought scones to share and to my surprise when I came home, a few were burnt at the bottom. I have bought these kind of scones before but were never burnt. Customers check your baked goods before you take them home and make sure they are in good condition.

I went for the first time to COBS after a friend recommended I try them.. safe to say there’s only two slices of the Sunflower Flax Sour Dough Loaf left (that I will fight anyone over), and both bagels are gone! Will have to stock up next time. 🍞

I use Cobs for my snack shop and personal use and have had the opportunity to visit a few different locations. My experience is always great but at the wilson st one in Ancaster the team is really great, very welcoming and are very genuine. Today I visited and everyone was smiling and easy to talk to. Jocelyn was my rep today and she put a smile on my face as she was attentive to my requests but just very real versus like some people at your competitors are robotic. She noticed the Birthday notification on my account and instead of just asking what I wanted said "is it your birthday today" with a great smile. It is nice to see people in retail that actually like to interact with you. Must be in your hiring process at this location because all the team seem to enjoy working with each other and you can feel that as a customer. 5 stars to you and the team. Winning combination of great food...

To be fair, I’ve been here frequently and loved everything. Scones (tried almost all varieties) delicious! Also had different types of buns and breads: all great. Today I waited in line outside the store, wearing a mask. I watched an elderly couple walk in (not masked) and approach the counter. They stood gossiping with an employee (also not masked) with only the counter width between them, both touching and leaning on the glass counter, avoiding the plexiglass at the cash (yuk!). Several people were waiting in line outside, but I left without going in. I don’t know if they sanitized the counter after the people were done handling it. Cobs apparently, has no regard for safety. Wouldn’t go back under any...
