I highly suggest calling to confirm the menu item you want is available before making the trip here. We came on a Sunday excited to try the pho, but only to be told they were sold out. They opened at 10am and we were there just before 1pm. I even checked their instagram stories to see if they updated their availability for the day and they posted “restocked on pho, coffee, etc” just a couple hours earlier, so it was definitely a disappointment when we arrived. I understand some of these new modern, hip, specialty cafes/restos only make a certain batch and depends on the demand. However, I think it’s silly when customers need to check for updates on socials or call in advance nowadays to grab a bite and support a business. What happened to just walking in and ordering food during business hours? I could also understand if we came by close to closing time and they were sold out.
Anyway, now on to the menu review. Since we couldn’t try their pho, we opted for the other food item on the menu: pho banh mi. I would say that it’s certainly a unique take on incorporating pho in a banh mi! Meat was tender and flavourful. The second item to review is the egg viet coffee. Although I haven’t had much viet coffee, I’d say this was also pretty good and would recommend trying if you never had it before.
We hope to return one day and...

Egg coffee is good, albeit a bit sweet. The beef banh mi was also good. Doesn't really have the classic banh mi ingredients like pickled carrots or daikon so it's more like a beef dip.
Options are very limited. No vegetarian option for food is disappointing. An egg/onion/chili mayo/cilantro banh mi would be easy to make and provide an alternative for those who don't eat beef - even if served without the bone broth.
Would be nice for the to bring you the food rather than picking it up yourself from...
Read moreI've had two phenomenal bowls of pho at this new location on Locke Street. The staff are so kind and welcoming. It's run by a Vietnamese family who were inspired after a recent trip and decided to bring something authentic to the street. They cook the broth for 16+ hours and press fresh banh mi sandwiches. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and the menu is very affordable. Highly recommend for a quick breakfast/brunch option.
PS. The egg...
