Jonny Blonde Food Truck & Catering — Restaurant in Hamilton

I've been meaning to make this review for a while. I got married in Oct. 2023. We got married at a venue that did not have a kitchen so we knew that we would have to have a caterer bring cooked food (which was not ideal for us) or to hire a food truck to make food fresh (which was kind of scary for us because I wanted to make sure that it was wedding-level quality).

I WAS BLOWN AWAY. The food was amazing. People could not believe that they made the food on the truck. People, to this day, bring up how amazing the food was that night. We had porchetta with Scalloped Potatoes as well as the chicken cacciatore with Gnocchi.

Layal was such an amazing contact point with the company. She was always on top of it and making sure that everything that needed to be planned was addressed. She helped me so much and she was an asset to have while wedding planning.

The day of, there were some issues that changed the timing of when passed apps would be served (they would be needed much earlier) and they were so flexible. It was such a nice surprise that they were able to make a stressful moment so much less stressful through their preparedness.

We used Johnny Blonde for their waitstaff and barstaff as well and they went above and beyond to make sure that we had an amazing day. Everyone was so friendly and my guests bring up how much fun/how attentive Sam the bartender was. Any time I got up to do anything they (very nicely) told me to sit down and catered to my every need. Dinner Service was so smooth and well executed.

We also utilized then for late night options which included wood oven fired pizza and chicken Tacos, which people raved about.

Cherry on top, the pricing was very very reasonable.

I have never had such great food at a wedding!

One of the biggest things that guests take away from a wedding is how good or bad the food was. It’s the thing that will always be mentioned when recalling the day. If you want your guests to have nothing but good things to say, go with Jonny Blonde.

During the planning process, you are dealing directly with one of the owners of the company, Layal, which is helpful because she had all the answers to our questions. Layal is such a pleasure to talk to and I could tell she genuinely cared about us and our day.

The day of, there were some last minute table changes and Jonny Blonde was able to easily adapt. I also asked if the late night snack could be served sooner and within 15 minutes it was ready!

Throughout the night, the staff were extremely friendly. One staff member made a personal connection with my 83 year old grandmother. In German, they bonded over living in Germany and moving to Canada. It was a highlight of the night for my grandmother. The staff were also able to read the room, like during the speeches, the staff waited off to the side with my husband and I’s meal until a speech was done so as to not interrupt. We also had several guests with severe allergies and the staff were able to identify these guests and provided them with the appropriate food.

We hired Jonny Blonde for our wedding, working with Layal & Jon towards our special day was seamless, comfortable, and wonderful! The food they put together for us and our guests was something our guests still rave about to this day. Their commitment to making your event special, unique, and unbelievable is unmatched. They have incredible staff, who work just as hard as Layal and Jon do, they are such wonderful people who are so professional and knowledgeable. The Bartender that was brought on by Jonny Blonde, Sam, was the best bartender we could have ever asked for. Their whole team made sure our guests were taken care of, and safe.

We highly recommend Jonny Blonde to anyone wanting the BEST food at your event. It truly was one of the best meals we have ever had in our lives!! Again, our friends and family are still talking about it as the best food they have ever had at an event!!

They worked diligently to ensure all of our guests with allergies were taken care of, and any vegetarians were treated with such care.

Our event was on the third floor of a building, and the elevator was not working at the time of dinner. Instead of pushing back dinner, Jonny Blonde's team without hesitation ran the food for our wedding up three flights of stairs, over and over to make sure our wedding day went according to plan.
