Although the location and amenities in general were good, there were a number of flaws which leave me disappointed and dissatisfied with my experience at the Visitors Inn Hamilton. The rooms were generally clean however attention to detail was lacking and our room had smudges on the mirrors and a piece of gum stuck to the side of a table (room 113- might still be there). The biggest issue I had was with the complimentary breakfast (or lack there of). There was a menu which listed the items available for the complementary breakfast however only a handful were actually provided or available when requested. What bothered me is that they had the menu, its fine to just have toast and jam or cereal available but don't mislead customers with the "complimentary breakfast menu" conveniently on the reverse is their regular breakfast menu (for a price). The breakfast was all laid out on a table which was not kept replenished or tidy and at 9:00 (breakfast ends at 11:00) there was scarcely anything left to pick from.
additionally (and this may be just an isolated incident we experienced) but there were several rooms surrounding ours where the guests were extremely noisy throughout the night. I went out at 2:00 am to notify the front desk however the noise continued through the night and the following night as well. I feel like the hotel staff should have done a better job in ensuring the hallways were kept clear and noise free after a certain hour.
In summary this Inn has potential (nice pool, good location) but needs a change in staff and management before I would visit again or recommend it. I have attached photos of the breakfast menu and the what you actually can expect as well as the gum...

Kinda ridiculous plus the major company whom was paying for our stay no longer does business with visitors inn now due to the lack of respect and made us pay a 300 $ deposit when we booked online with credit card of company whom uses this hotel more then 1000x a year across Canada ... and didn’t give us deposit back due to the damages of room akamore discrimination bc of the cord being unplugged and fan in bathroom was clogged so we cleaned it without replacing the cover which was dirty other then that I had blood stained sheets action Canada supported us during my procedure I’m human it happens but embarrassing as it was and as unfortunate to be out in the cold and homeless I rather be out in he snowy rain freezing then return to this hotel and do not recommend anyone to go due to the lack of respect ... people might ruin things for other people but after 1 week of stay then 3 days in my hubbys name we should not have been bothered and then told they was all booked which they was not so we couldn’t stay or extend we just leave and no deposit ... absolutely disturbing behaviour for a...
Read moreStayed here for a school event. The front desk and security were quite unfriendly and condescending, continuously telling us “there’s no partying here” (we are all paying adults, waiting quietly as anyone would in the lobby, greeting friends that had already arrived). Told them we know and that we were only there for a school event, but it clearly went in one ear and out the other. The security guard was staring at me looking annoyed the whole time I was writing down my information and only once we had paid he exclaimed “I don’t want to hear any noise from those rooms. This is your one warning, I hear anything I won’t hesitate to kick you out”. Weren’t planning on throwing or going to a party, not even dressed in a manner that you would expect it. Again, as we’re walking to the elevator “I’m here until 8:00am so don’t get any ideas”. We were about to get a refund but it was already late and weather was poor. I would never stay here again and recommend other young adults not to either if they don’t want to deal with bs like that. Rooms were average at best, with old televisions and poor wifi. Awful experience, contrasted by a stay at the Hilton the next day in Niagra which was infinitely better in terms of service and...
