Mr.Sub — Restaurant in Hamilton

I have been frequenting this location for over 7 years. Going often enough that the previous staff knew me and my kids and always commented on how much they were growing. The place was fantastic and I never had an issue of any kind. Unfortunately the new management and staff has been a huge disappointment. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and continued to go there on occasion despite early problems with the bread and slow service.

Well tonight was the last straw. I got home with my three subs (2 with no toppings for my kids) that took over 20 minutes to make. By the time I sat down to eat mine my eldest had already eaten half of his sub. That was when I realized that the bread from my sub was covered in mould! Sure enough I checked his and it was mouldy too. The poor kid is distraught now at having eaten it.

My husband took the subs back, but I honestly don't even care what they have to say. It is just unacceptable and we won't be going back.

I recently visited Mr.Sub on Barton and Greys in Stoney Creek in hopes of supporting a local business, but unfortunately, my experience was far from positive. From the moment I stepped in, the service felt rushed and pushy. The staff seemed more focused on getting us in and out. The bread served was stale, and they said it was fresh. Not only was it not fresh, but no selection other then the basic white and whole wheat. To make matters worse, we were advised not to toast the bread because it was already “fresh” — which only made it harder to ignore the dry stale bread. And on a final note there was a sign on the washroom door that said it was out of order, so we could not use it to wash are hands, but they asked the next customer if they had to use it, they could. Haven’t had Mr.Sub in years. I was craving a sandwich today and thought I’d give them a chance. I usually order subs with 4-5 sauces on them but only a little is put on the sub to obviously avoid overflow of the sauce. I ordered from skip the dishes and when it arrived…. My goodness! it was just a soggy pool of sauce. Couldn’t even see what’s on the sub because of the amount of sauce they put in it. I just felt like it’s common sense to put a small amount of sauce on the sub when someone orders a lot of sauces. I tried to eat half of it but it was so disgusting. I had to throw the whole thing out and now my stomach is hurting and making weird noises. If I do order again, I’ll be going in person to do so. Wish I could get my money...
