During my recent visit to Pur and Simple for brunch, I had the privilege of being served by Madi B, and the experience was nothing short of outstanding. In a world where dining experiences often hinge on the quality of service as much as the food itself, Madi distinguished herself as a consummate professional whose skills and demeanor elevate the reputation of the establishment she represents.
From the moment I was seated, Madi’s communication was clear, warm, and efficient. She greeted me with a genuine smile and established immediate rapport. Instead of simply reciting a rehearsed introduction, she engaged in friendly conversation, making me feel valued as an individual rather than just another customer. Her ability to listen attentively, anticipate my needs, and explain the menu options with clarity reflected not only strong product knowledge but also an impressive command of customer-focused communication.
Professionalism was at the core of Madi’s approach. Despite the busy brunch rush, she remained calm, organized, and attentive to detail. She managed her time with precision, ensuring that I never felt neglected, yet she balanced this attentiveness without being intrusive. Her professional demeanor was evident in the way she carried herself. Her posture, tone, and choice of words reflected maturity and respect for her role. Even when managing multiple tables, she displayed poise and composure that spoke volumes about her work ethic.
Madi’s customer service skills were truly exemplary. She consistently checked in at the right moments, ensuring that my coffee was refilled, dietary preferences were noted, and any questions I had were addressed with confidence and accuracy. When I asked about recommendations, she provided thoughtful suggestions tailored to my tastes rather than offering generic responses. This personalized touch transformed a simple meal into a memorable dining experience.
What impressed me most was Madi’s kindness. It was not performative; it was authentic. Her interactions carried a sense of empathy and consideration that extended beyond the typical expectations of service. She noticed small details, like offering extra napkins when I ordered a syrup-heavy dish, or ensuring my utensils were placed neatly before the meal arrived. These gestures demonstrated her attentiveness and genuine desire to create comfort for her guests.
Beyond her soft skills, Madi exhibited outstanding overall competence. She seamlessly coordinated with kitchen staff, managed orders accurately, and delivered food promptly, all while maintaining an approachable and welcoming presence. Such multitasking requires not only technical proficiency but also emotional intelligence, a rare combination that Madi embodies naturally.
In reflecting on my experience, it is clear that Madi B represents the ideal qualities employers seek in any customer-facing role. She is a strong communicator, a polished professional, a dedicated provider of customer service, and above all, a kind and thoughtful individual. She possesses the unique ability to turn a routine dining experience into something memorable and uplifting.
Any employer fortunate enough to hire Madi would not simply gain an employee. They would gain an ambassador who elevates the workplace with her integrity, warmth,...

Wish I could say I’ve tried this place but I’ve never been able to sit down. Just not willing to wait 20+ minutes for a table. First attempt was last Friday morning. Showed up and was told the wait would be 30-45 minutes. Was told to use their online waitlist feature. Second time was last Sunday morning. Online waitlist said: “there is no waitlist - come on in!” I live less than 3 minutes away and left immediately. By the time we arrived: 30-45 minute wait. I explained that I would have added myself to the waitlist 5 minutes ago; the person I spoke to seemed completely unconcerned and said “unfortunately, there’s nothing I can do about that now. It’s gonna be at least a 30 minute wait” (this is for 2 people). Today is a Wednesday morning at 11:30. Used the online waitlist feature a second time - same result - “no waitlist - come on in!”. Arrived in less than 3 minutes and was told there would be a 20-35 minute wait. I explained that I’m not prepared to wait and was told to use their online waitlist feature. I explained that I had and that I was wasting my time trying to use the online waitlist. Was offered to speak to a manager, I said, I think for the first time in my life “yes, actually I would”. Explained that this my third attempt to the manager and showed her the online waitlist which showed there no waitlist. The manager said “I’m sorry. There’s only two of you? Let me see what I can do. We a should have a table in five minutes”.
Waited 6 minutes then left.
In total, I wasted about an hour of my life - PÜR & SIMPLE!
I’ve attached the picture I took of the waitlist QR code, in case anyone reading this wants to waste their...
Read moreHeard some favorable comments about this Ancaster location, so my buddy and I went there today. Typical Ancaster place, trying to appear upscale. Menu was relatively detailed but as all the pages had been laminated in a soft plastic, it was difficult to use and these pages were all but impossible to separate. We started with a tea and a coffee. My tea came in a tiny little pot and after steeping, I poured it into the mug but it only filled it 2/3's full. My buddy ordered Eggs Benedict and I went simple with sausage, scrambled, home fries and toast. When it arrived, my buddy enjoyed his eggs/Benny. My order was extremely run-of-the-mill with obviously small eggs used, very soft, fatty institutional sausage and deep fried home fries that had a strange sweetness to them that my wife said indicated that they had been frozen before processing. Toast (Villagio?) arrived in a separate basket and I had forgot to ask for it to be burnt, so it arrived with barely any colour on it. My buddy's coffee was topped up and I was offered hot water for my tea - hot water for a used tea bag which is a far too common practice but for me, makes no sense, so I asked for another tea with a fresh tea bag. Server said it was an extra charge for a new tea bag. Whatever - in for a penny, in for a pound. I have no idea what spread was used on the toast but it didn't taste like butter. My buddy said the Eggs Benny order good enough, however, being more difficult to please, I would rate mine as 2-1/2 to 3 out of 5. I doubt if I would go back when so many other places have a similar or superior product at a similar or...
