I’ve been enjoying Parikar for several years now, thanks to a family friend who introduced us to this amazing spot. It feels like a true family-run restaurant, with an older couple working behind the scenes and their nephew Kishan managing the front. The family has Indian and Nepalese roots, so you know the food is inspired by those rich culinary traditions.
While I can’t say every dish is 100% traditional or authentic by strict standards, the flavors are superb and clearly made with fresh ingredients. Their butter chicken is velvety, rich, and creamy—definitely a standout. The naan is soft, fresh, and pairs perfectly with the dishes. I also love their Nepalese momos; the steamed ones are a must-try, and while the jhoul momo sauce differs slightly from what I’ve seen in Nepal, it’s still full of great flavor.
One of my top recommendations is the thali. It offers a wonderful variety of tastes and textures all in one meal. The goat curry in the thali is especially memorable and packs great flavor. The dal and raita complement the dish perfectly, and the pickled vegetables add a unique touch.
For dessert, the homemade kheer and rasmalai are fantastic. The rasmalai, in particular, is creamy and delicious—one of my favorites.
Parikar offers vegan, vegetarian, halal, and I believe gluten-free options—just ask when you visit. Meat lovers will find plenty to enjoy with seafood, chicken, goat/lamb, and beef dishes.
The staff are friendly, but sometimes there’s a language barrier that can make ordering a bit tricky. Kishan is usually very helpful and understanding. I did have one experience where calls were disconnected several times within a short period, which was frustrating—but this was a one-time issue.
The dining area is clean and modern, with plenty of seating. Wait times are usually 10–15 minutes, though steamed momos can take about 20 minutes. There’s almost always space available for dine-in.
Parikar is about a 5–6 km drive from where I live in the city, but it’s absolutely worth the trip.
For anyone trying it out for the first time, I highly recommend the mango lassi—it’s fresh, creamy, and the best I’ve had anywhere. Their Nepalese-style beer is also a great pairing. For a full meal experience, go with the butter chicken, garlic naan, rice, mango lassi, and finish with rasmalai. Or try the thali for a bit of everything in one satisfying dish.
I want to thank Parikar and the family for not just the great food, but for the deep dive into their culture and cuisine. It’s more than just a meal—it’s a celebration of flavors and tradition that I truly appreciate.
Thanks again to Kishan and the whole family for years of great food and...

First, let’s talk about the food. The dumplings were absolutely divine—soft, perfectly steamed, and bursting with flavorful fillings and spicy just how I like it! Each bite felt like a little piece of heaven! The samosas were equally impressive, with their golden, crispy crust and spiced potato filling that was nothing short of perfection. And the pan puri? Oh my goodness, they were a standout! The crisp shells, filled with tangy, spicy, and sweet-sour flavors, were a symphony of taste. Every dish was clearly made with care and authenticity, and I can confidently give the food a 10/10.
Beyond the fantastic cuisine, what truly sets this place apart is the service. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that I had an enjoyable experience, checking in regularly and accommodating any requests with grace. They made me feel like a valued guest, which is something I deeply appreciate.
The ambiance of the restaurant was also worth mentioning—clean, cozy, and inviting, with a hint of cultural charm that adds to the dining experience. Whether you're there with family, friends, or just dining solo, the atmosphere makes you feel right at home.
Overall, this restaurant is a true gem, and I can’t recommend it enough. If you’re a fan of flavorful Indian cuisine and enjoy being treated like royalty, this is the place to go. Five stars aren’t enough to express how amazing this dining experience was. I will definitely be...
Read moreI used to really like this restaurant until tonight. Placed an order at 5:00PM for myself, my wife and my kids through Doordash as a Mothers Day treat for my wife as this was her favorite Indian restaurant. The app told us straight away that the food order would be delayed as the restaurant is busy and delivery would be at 6:53PM, not the best but by no means a deal breaker.
6:53PM - I check the app to see that my food hasn't been picked up yet, I contact Doordash and they let me know the driver is on route to get my order and I should see this reflected in my app soon.
7:28PM - Doordash sends me a notification that my order has been cancelled as the restaurant can't complete my order.
7:30PM - I call the restaurant to find out what is going on, they are also confused about why the order has cancelled and I ask if we can just come pick up the order as take-away and I will pay for my food since Doordash issued a refund automatically with the cancellation. After some humming and hawing to just call Doordash and find out more, I asked if my food was ready only to find out that the restuarant had not even started to cook my food and they had no interest in doing so now either.
So now I am left in a position where my kids are due to go to bed in 30 minutes and we have no food prepared.
I will never eat from here again and I will strongly recommend that others...
