Pita Pit — Restaurant in Hamilton

Tried to place an order over the phone for 9 pitas today for a work function. Told them right off it was for 9 individual pitas. I asked if it could be done by 12, or 12:30 given that I was calling at around 25 mins to 12. Fella taking my call indicated it could be done "by a bit after 12". I got through each of the 9 pita orders, complete with toppings. Once I had gotten through the entire order, I was told it would be ready "After 1:30", because there were only 2 people there and it was getting busy. Was pretty annoyed that I was told this after going through each pita and all its toppings over the 10-15 minute call to actually place the order, and after I was told it would be ready more than an hour earlier. Just a thought, phone orders are customers as well. I'm sure that I would have been less well received had I come into the store and rhymed off that order instead of placing it over the phone. I did cancel the order after finding out it would now take an hour longer than originally indicated. Not impressed at the wasted time on this, and we will not be ordering from you in the future. Surprised you guys offer a catering menu if that's how phone in customers are...

This Pita Pit location has really gone downhill. The lettuce was completely brown, and when I asked them not to add it and pointed out how bad it looked, the staff member actually mixed it into the rest so it would not be obvious for the next customer. The hummus was so dry that I had to ask if there was any fresh, and only then did she pull a better container from under the counter. That small gesture is the only reason this is not a one-star review.

The experience was frustrating overall. The staff spoke Punjabi to each other the entire time, which made communication difficult and created a clear language barrier. When I joked about needing a translator, it was not received well. On top of that, the food quality, freshness, and cleanliness were all far below what I am used to expecting from Pita Pit.

This used to be my go-to spot in the area, but sadly it is no longer worth the visit. I would recommend avoiding...

Just over a month ago we ordered to pitas. From the start the employee greets us then grabs a cookie and starts eating it infront of us as she takes our order. As they are putting the food together she drops a sauce bottle on the floor then proceeds to pick it up and uses the same gloves to finish the first pita. She drops the sauce bottle a second time and never changes her gloves as she wraps the second pita. We jlleft horrified with our food and then proceeded to another restaurant for food. We never touched it. The enxt day we try to call but the manager wasn't in. The day after that I get another employee and I tell her what happened. She took my info but we never got a follow up.
