Save yourself the headache and don’t bother coming here—especially not with a group. We came as a party of 10 to celebrate a birthday, and the entire night was completely derailed by some of the worst service I’ve ever experienced. Instead of enjoying the celebration, we spent the evening dealing with frustration, delays, and constant excuses. We were seconds away from walking out.
Our server, Kelsey, may have kept a smile on her face, but she took zero accountability. Every issue—late food, missing items, forgotten drinks—was blamed on the kitchen. While we did receive apologies, they felt empty and meaningless. No one made any effort to actually resolve the issues, and because gratuity was automatically included, there was no urgency or incentive to provide quality service.
To make matters worse, two people in our group were told—after waiting over an hour—that their meals weren’t even available. No alternatives were offered, no compensation provided, and again, no real attempt to make it right. One of us didn’t eat at all. That’s unacceptable.
The only redeeming part of the night was Megan, who was assisting Kelsey and genuinely doing her best to hold things together. She was kind, attentive, and clearly overwhelmed—but at least she tried.
We had to ask multiple times just to get water. The entire restaurant was understaffed, disorganized, and clearly not capable of handling a group of our size.
As someone who works in the service industry, I’m typically patient and understanding—but this was hands-down the worst experience I’ve had. If gratuity hadn’t been forced on us, we wouldn’t have tipped.
The food is actually good, which makes it even more disappointing. It’s just not worth enduring this level of service for a decent meal. One and done—never...
Read moreLocal pub atmosphere for the 50+ crowd after the golf course, or weekend jaunt. Bands when they are in can be quite loud after 8pm ( drinking time ), whereas during lunch and dinner ( depending on the day) there is the nominal bar music( or nothing , no music). Alas the food is mediocre but is typical pub fare in Southern Ontario, however the "bar menu" as presented by the servers is a 'bait' and 'switch' advertisement, where on a Sunday they offer a pint of draft (any variety) at full price for the first one, then the second one is half or else buy two, get one free, but they say it as buy two get the the third free. This is clearly, a bait "get the second at half price" option and switch with the "get the third free" promotion."
Am not including names of server, or "manager", who was adamant that the 'server' was not wrong in omitting the "surcharge" on 'sweet potato fries' with the meal, that was ordered, based on the recommendation of the server that the question was " And what side would you like with the order?" and the resonse was "thats a side item" for the main order.
As, it was, I needed to ask about the "upgrade" when there was no mention of a surcharge for the "sweet potato fries" with a substitution upgrade price of $4.55 for barely two potatoes worth of fries.
Another guest had poutine and fries, again quite dire at $9.99.
Then is the " weekday draft prices" at $6 between 4-6pm.
A 50cl draft Corona is $20.and change, never mind the buy one get thecsecond at half price. "Deal". Donald Trump is the art of negotiating, but these people take the "deal" out of the "Art" of sales.
Stay away, or bring a gold Amex...
Read moreGot off on the wrong foot when they first opened a few years back. After finding out, the owner personally reached out to make it right. Glad I gave them a second chance! Calamari was very good. Served w/ hot peppers, onions and bacon ; delicious. French onion soup is the best I've had in years, LOTS of cheese and a thick dark brown broth the way it should be (but rarely is). Tried the Triple-B and thought "Umm..hmm this is a tasty Burger!" Steamwhistle and several other good craft beers on tap at the ice bar at the front, HUGE selection of good spirits (good stuff is at the back bar, more on that later)
Atmosphere has always been awesome, the "Gasbar meets Pulp Fiction" slant is refreshing and unlike anything you've seen. Don't be fooled by the name, it's a family friendly place; my 8 month old was perfectly happy the entire visit. Several other families with children were also enjoying their dinner. The Motorcycles hanging from the Ceiling and the Steamwhistle Camaro are worth dropping in just to look at. Secondary bar with 'the good stuff' is perfect for a guy like me. I enjoy the finer things and I don't necessarily want to be at a loud bar when enjoying a nice Bourbon or a fine Scotch. Very thoughtful touch.
Service was great, food was great for the price (practically everything under 20$) Even the Wife...
