Rony's — Restaurant in Hamilton

One of the best chicken shops I have been to. I ordered the OG Chicken wrap, and the Lite (which the only difference is amount of meat in it). Some of the most unique, grilled chicken I have tasted. Absolutely phenomenal. Its tangy, spicy (if you ask for it!), and delicious. With such a basic spice blend for the chicken I was not expecting much, but it has exceeded my standards. This isn’t traditional shawarma, which is what I wanted that day, but when I tell you Rony’s exceeds 99% of shawarma shops I have been to, thats when you know its serious. The pre packaged chicken is amazing for family bbq’s or just for meal prep for yourself at home. I tried the Mango frozen yogurt, and it had a very strong mango flavour, overall enjoyed it a lot. I met the owner second time visiting, very stand up guy, very kind, genuinely cares for client concerns, and how they can improve as a restaurant & business. It is very hard to find businesses in 2024 that value customer retention the way Rony does! Rony’s will now forever be a staple for me and my family, which is hard because my mother almost doesn’t like any food outside of the house!! 12/10, would recommend to anyone looking for a decently priced and delicious meal that you will not forget. One of the memories I share with friends is that during the pandemic, I was desperate for Rony’s that I ate his food outside so happily, despite the weather, hoping that he might one day open up a location closer to me. Since Rony’s on Upper James opened, I have been thrilled to go. I’ve also been excited to bring friends from outside Hamilton, especially since the Upper James location is open on Saturdays! Since they opened, I’ve now been repeatedly.

You have the same excellent food. A focused menu yields delicious results, and Rony always cooks with integrity, putting his best foot forward. I’m incredibly fond of the Chicken Platter with its perfectly-cooked morsels of chicken, savoury rice, and wonderful tabbouleh. Ordered take out on Monday evening OG Rony Special, Falafel Plate, Chicken Plate and Fries with Benefits. Although the Fries with Benefits was decent, everything else was abysmal. The food was salty and chicken had no charcoal smell/taste. I thought the charcoal was their gimmick and claim to fame? Well, don’t expect any other than regular chicken you can get anywhere else. The worst part was that portion was extremely small. I even called in after I got home to review my order with the girl at front service to make sure we had the OG size. If the OG size was half a box, I can’t even imagine what their Lite would be. After the talk with the girl at front service, she said the manager or owner will give me a call later.
