Stacked Pancake & Breakfast House — Restaurant in Hamilton

We have been going to this location since early 2023. We always had exceptional service when Juliea was working, she was always inviting and passionate about her job and giving a great experience. We often went 2-3 times a week for months.

Since she has moved on, we've been back only three times and each time it's been a huge let down. Today will be the last. For a very basic order, we both did the same meals to make it simple for our server as we've experienced him before. We ordered two Meat lovers with all soft bacon, scrambled eggs well done, all toast, no hashbrowns, how hard was it to get right? The bacon was so done we both could make a fort out of our toast with it. The eggs were stone cold and the toast was hardly buttered. I get things are tight and costs, but even a hint of butter... They did replace the one set of bacon between our meals, but I was starving and done my meal by the time my fiance's was brought back and only ate half of it as at this point we were both done.

The same server we had this time as last time, isn't very attentive. Our prior visit, our food sat in the window for just under 5 minutes while he was too busy arms crossed talking to other servers, not paying attention. We had to actually flag another person down to ask for our food as it was so slow at the time. That time as well the food was ok, but again not the usual standards we've experienced but let it slide as one off.

This place use to be amazing for qualify food and service. We often would take friends / family there, or purchase gift certificates for our staff to encourage them to support. Today was strike...

Been to this location 2 times and will not be coming back. The first time my Husband and I visited it was around me 1pm on a Saturday so the morning rush had passed and they weren’t busy. Server was great. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Caesar however they did not have any grilled chicken. Second time we attended was around 11:30am on a Saturday so they were a bit more busy. My husband ordered their Waffle Stacked and wanted to substitute the eggs for an omelette. Manager stated they were unable to make substitutions as they were busy …. But I mean if they’re making eggs what’s the harm in throwing in some toppings and making it an omelette (we were willing to pay the difference) He ended up ordering the western omelette meal and adding additional waffles on the side… the most disappointing part of their western omelette was that it ONLY INCLUDES ONIONS AND HAM (no cheese no peppers no tomato)IN ADDITION HIS WAFFLE WERE COLD … extreme let down. I ordered a chocolate milk with my meal which I had to ask 3 times for a straw, 1 time asking the manager as he walking around refilling coffees… finally I was handed a straw unwrapped with the servers fingers touching the end of the straw, disgusting. Our bill came to over $50…NOT...

I came with my husband for a 2nd time after having not such good service previously. This time around wasn't much better either. I don't mind waiting for food, as I know when it's a little bit busy things take a while. But we were eating and sitting waiting for some kind of coffee refill, or acknowledgement or something for 45 minutes after we got our food. Also asked for water right at the beginning when being sat, we didn't ever receive that either. My husband was done eating, the waitress (who is also apparently a manager), took his empty plate then ran away, not asking if we needed anything or even acknowledging us whatsoever. I saw other servers going to other tables with a coffee pot but no one ever came around to offer us a refill. When we asked to speak to a manager at the end of the meal about the lack of service, she said it was due to a religious holiday they weren't prepared for, though when I looked around there still seemed to be quite a few empty tables, so it wasn't completely swamped. Seemed like kind of a lackluster reason. She discounted the bill for us but made it seem like a chore when dropping off the bill. Don't think I will return to this location, as this is not the first time receiving...
