A&W Canada — Restaurant in Heritage Valley

Sad the Steakhouse Burger is gone 😢—found out too late! Luckily grabbed one last Buddy version on the 16th which is extremely lucky because I guess it was discontinued on the 17th ... I know this because I tried to order a steakhouse burger and they said that it’s discontinued. I said awh when was a discontinued I just had one yesterday 😭 and they said “that’s impossible.” Sorry A&W, but I’m not lying about having the steakhouse burger yesterday. That would just be weird if I were to lie about that so that was awkward. I just told them it was a different location and they looked confused and said again it was discontinued two days ago not yesterday so I l just let them win that lmao. AnywaysTried the new Peri Peri Burger instead—less complex but super tasty. The sauce is spicy and flavorful, pairs great with onions. Add bacon for the full effect because it’s not included. I’m obsessed— I went to this location to try another and was a little bit disappointed this time because it wasn’t made fresh & I thought the lady was a little bit rude. I asked if I could order the Perry Perry burger, but get it as a Buddy burger and she’s like it already is a buddy burger in a cold annoyed tone lol it’s not what she said it’s how she said it 😭😭 could’ve just put the order in LOL anyways I recommend going to an A&W but probably not this location go to one That’s not busy so that you can get fresh it makes a million times difference. This one had two other people in the line and right when I got up, they gave me a burger & the patty was not hot or even warm, which is very not like A&W. Other location, it took her 3 to 5 minutes to make.

ALSO nottt sure what’s going on with the A&W Brew Bar lately. I’ve seen this same “Cold and Frozen Brew Bar beverages unavailable” sign at five different locations across my city. It’s strange because it’s always the exact same sign. Makes me wonder—are the machines really down at all these places, or do staff just not want to make them because they take longer? It’s not every A&W, just certain ones. Really confusing and disappointing for fans of the frozen drinks. Also, if they really are down, then A&W is a big company. They should be looking into this because they’re losing a lot of money by half their locations not being able to serve...

This branch is so far the worst among all A&W I visited. If there is a super negative star that would be my rating. The first time we visited this branch their onion rings was sooo salty. It was like they poured a bag of salt in the onion rings that I had to throw it. Some tables were also dirty and to think they were not busy as we were the only customers at that time. But they were all busy chatting and laughing. Some of the staffs have long nails and lots of jewelries… where is the proper food safety handling here!?

The next we visited was today Oct. 7, 2023 (Sat) at around 4:14 pm. We wanted to have a dine in but we don’t want to use the frosted mug instead the to go pop cup but the girl staff said it’s not allowed so I said we will order to go but then they won’t allow us to sit inside and eat just because of the to go pop. What kind of rules is that what’s wrong we paid for those foods anyway!!!? Just making your customer’s life difficult?

What pissed me off was they don’t know what customer service is. There was one girl and a guy, the so called supervisor who was very rude! He seemed not to care and just told us, “If you don’t like here you can go somewhere..”. That is very disrespectful! Doesn’t even know the word “sorry!” This is the kind of staff who doesn’t care in your business ! A supervisor should be trained to have maximum tolerance and patience! What’s ridiculous was they were not busy! A&W you need to retrain your staffs or do something because they are ruining the good name of A&W! What a shame! I visited other branch and its the owners who were serving but they are very kind and respectful and considerate just to make their customers happy and feel valued. I love the foods of A&W but if the staffs are as ill-mannered as these staffs in James Mowatt Trail, customers will lose their appetite! Definitely, I will NEVER recommend this branch at James Mowatt Trail! Very frustrating...

The service was awesome, and al the staff were so friendly and very accomodating. They went extra mile to help me with my order request.The manager/supervisor was very welcoming as she took my order. She asked me if i needed anything else and told me she will just take my food to my table since i cant carry it by myself. It is a place where you can come in and hve a great meal. As ive been to other A&Ws before but this branch is far best branch. They were all smiling as soon as i enter the premisses.The food was amazing and hot as if someone welcomed me to have breakfast in the house. Have i mentioned the cleanliness? the table ive sat in was spot on clean and no dust at all. As ive very allergic to dust.I didnt even see or touch a speck of dust on my table. The music in the store was very relaxing. I order all canadian and a cup of coffee. Everything was perfectly cooked to my liking specially the eggs. Because im very picky how my eggs would be done. I will comeback to this place due to the wonderful experience i had.. For a senior like me these A&W is the best place to dine in. God bless all...
