We dined here for Sunday breakfast and had a truly fabulous experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a cheerful welcome and seated right away. Our server, Tiffany, was incredibly friendly and thorough in explaining the menu, which elevated our entire visit.
While we were deciding what to order, we were offered a small sample of their freshly squeezed orange juice—which was delicious. Fresh, vibrant, and naturally sweet—it was an easy decision to go ahead and order a glass each.
We ordered two dishes to try: Chicago Eggs Benedict and Pesto Philly Steak Skillet. The skillet was definitely the star of the show. All the flavours came together beautifully, and the pesto had a wonderfully rich, herby taste that really stood out. Just a note in case anyone sees our photo: the skillet normally comes with one egg, but we requested an extra, so don't be surprised if it looks different!
The Chicago Benedict was enjoyable overall—the eggs were perfectly medium poached, and the bread had a nice crisp to it. However, the hollandaise was a little underwhelming. Hollandaise typically has a light, lemony tang that brightens up the dish, but here it felt a bit flat and mild in flavour. It’s a small detail, but one that can really enhance an Eggs Benedict. The bacon and ham were also chopped quite small, which made the dish a little tricky to eat neatly.
We also ordered cappuccinos and were delighted to see they use Nespresso—something we appreciate as fans of the brand.
The space itself was beautifully designed, with a cozy retro touch to it. All in all, we had a great time—the food, the service, and the relaxed vibe all made for an enjoyable breakfast. We’re looking forward to coming back and trying...
Read moreI hardly write reviews but I went for brunch today with my bestfriend for my birthday. Service was absolutely terrible. Our server hardly had any tables and was beyond slow. She didn’t refill any water until our plates were stacked and ready to be taken away (we were sitting with our plates stacked waiting to ask for the bill for at least 10 minutes). I was a server for 6 years so I understand how busy it could be on weekend mornings, but I feel that it was simply due to her forgetting things and not checking in on us. We ordered a main item each with a fruit French toast to share. We asked if the fruit French toast could come a little bit after our mains were brought out so we could enjoy it together. She never even punched it in and asked when our plates were stacked and waiting for the bill if we “still wanted it”. It took a while for my main to come out, of which was cold. The bacon was rock hard from being cold, and was barely edible. My friend ordered a side of scrambled eggs which came out 5 minutes after I got my food, and she didn’t receive her main item for at least 10-15 minutes after I received mine (she got a chicken sandwich and it was also freezing cold). Our server was very non approachable, and in total we had 3 interactions 1) ordering our food 2) asking where my friends food was and 3) getting the bill. While we were paying she said absolutely nothing and just handed my friend the machine. Again, I have worked in the bar and restaurant industry for years. This was just a bad experience and is the second time I have come to this location with a terrible experience. I hope you guys can train your servers better and promote to them how to be...
Read moreThe overall experience was very disappointing. I was initially excited and looking forward to visiting this new restaurant near my home, so I made plans to go with friends. Unfortunately, both the service and food were unsatisfactory.
No water provided upon seating – We were only asked to order drinks. While waiting, there was no follow-up, and we had to specifically request water because we were thirsty. We had to specify ask to place the order The biggest issue for me is the food.I ordered the XPOLSUON which includes fruit and protein. When got my plate, the pineapple was spoiled. After requesting a replacement, I found eggshells on my orange, making me question whether the kitchen follows proper food safety standards (e.g., separate cutting boards and knives for different ingredients). After I asked to speak to the manager, they offered a replacement. After about five minutes of waiting (I didn’t want to ruin my mood further), the fruit still wasn’t fresh, and I found more eggshells in my toast. Also the orange on my friend plate is the inedible end piece, which is hard to enjoy. The server acted impatient, as if rushing us out. Additionally, I have a sensitivity to smells due to allergies, and our server had hygiene issues kind bother me a lot.
The manager did apologize when we were paying, and I explained all the problems. I hope improvements are made, especially regarding food safety. I believe people are expect decent food and services, not health hazards...
