Ordered a sandwich which was so disappointing. Bread is not toasted, 2 slices of tomato, saddest piece of lettuce. Was really exciting to find a local owned deli to try and i regret it
My reply to the owner:
Thank you for your response. I understand your desire to make things right, and I appreciate you taking the time to reply.
That said, I believe a customer’s experience should reflect the care and quality an independent establishment is known for—especially when it comes to something as simple yet telling as a sandwich. I was disappointed with what I received, not because I expected anything extravagant, but because I was hoping for something that felt made with pride and intention.
In my opinion, the sandwich lacked the freshness and quality I associate with a locally owned deli. The ingredients and preparation felt no different than something I could have assembled from grocery store ingredients. I was especially let down that several of the toppings I ordered were missing (cucumber, onion), and the bread wasn’t toasted or enhanced in any way. These small touches really make a difference, and they’re typically standard in deli-style sandwiches elsewhere.
I ended up giving the sandwich away and going to Subway instead, which felt like settling, considering I had sought out your shop specifically for a better experience.
Please don’t take this as an attack—my intention is purely to provide honest feedback that might help you improve the experience for future customers. I would be open to discussing this further if you’d like.
Thanks again, and I wish you all the best with your business.

Read moreFirst impressions, the staff member who took my order was wearing a mask, I'm not sure why, not even covering he nose... Signs on table read "sanitized", but they had a huge portable fan at the entrance blowing air toward the food prep and kitchen area. This fan had about an inch of grose fuzzy dust on the intake side, so much for "sanatized". $11 dollar "donair" smallest donair I've ever seen in my life, processed donair meat, wrong style bread and maybe enough tomatoes and onions to feed a pet hamster.
Like Owl street cafe I have no idea how this place has such a high rating, it's just another mainroad tourist trap. Maybe other things on the menu are better, but at those prices I'll pass. For $11 dollars in Nova Scotia for a donair you can easily feed two people. I would love to see Gordon Ramsey's face after seeing that portable fan right at the entrance.
Hope definitely has opportunity for a proper restruant owner to grow. So far the only place worth eating there is Spice and Grill. If you want a proper donair go...
Read moreAs new residents of Hope, we were thrilled to discover Sharon's Deli and Lunch Bar, and it quickly became a favorite spot! We tried their $8.99 breakfast special, which included two perfectly cooked eggs, crispy bacon, two pieces of warm toast, and a serving of potato hash browns. We also added a coffee to our meal, which came with free refills—an added bonus!
The food was fantastic, but what truly stood out was the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and personable, making us feel like we were part of the community from the moment we walked in.
