Subway — Restaurant in Hope

If you are looking for the worst Subway in BC, try this one out. It's a good competitor. Unfortunately it's steady traffic is from people passing through Hope for a quick bite, but as someone who has lived here long enough to see no positive changes in this place? I suggest you go the extra 4 minutes down to the Flying J's subway. They actually clean their workspace, have toppings and meat that aren't browning; And their staff are actually coherent. No, seriously. My friend and I once ordered from this Subway in town and one of the younger girls in the family made his sandwich complete opposite to what he was asking for, and instead of a proper apology or offering to remake it. Yep, you guessed it. She was laughing and offered nothing to makeup for her mistakes. Instead my friend just wanted out of there because of her behavior and paid for something he didn't want. Why? Because having 7 pizza places in town gets old for takeout. I had to use the washroom quickly while stopping by, too, recently it seems they've completely bypassed proper upkeep there as well. The toilet seat was clammy + garbage full. Poor light fixture too. Overall this place is a huge avoid. Take the extra couple minutes to the next Subway and enjoy something worth your money. We had a very disappointing and troubling experience at this Subway. When we arrived, there were two employees working: a male employee who was doing his best to serve customers, and a female employee named Farah (or something similar) who was on her phone, ignoring customers, and openly rude.

What was most concerning was that we witnessed her act in a prejudicial way toward an Indigenous family. We spoke up in their defense, but it was extremely upsetting to see that kind of behaviour in a public setting.

Service was chaotic. Customers were left waiting, food sat getting cold, and we nearly walked out because it took so long just to pay. When we asked for a feedback form, we were deliberately given a paper for a random hotel instead, and then overheard her making fun of us about it.

The male employee appeared to be working hard, but Farah was not working at all and treated customers very poorly. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have had, and I hope management takes...

I was initially happy to find this subway, after a long drive. I walked into a completely empty restaurant, but there was a couple with young children who came in behind me. They needed to use the washroom. The girl serving us was so incredibly rude to them, I could not believe it. They had little children that needed to go to the washroom, and Subway had locked their washrooms which is not legal in Canada. All of this happened while she was making my sandwich, and all I could think of was her negative vibes going into my meal. She got my order wrong and took shortcuts with it. I ordered a steak and cheese sub, and instead of warming up the steak separately to toasting the sandwich, she threw it all together in the oven. Needless to say it was cold. I ate half of it only because I was starving, and threw the other half away. It was not edible. If I was the owner, I would fire this girl immediately.
