This place is obviously popular as it was very busy but we were really disappointed after reading pretty good reviews. 12 of us went in (called first to make sure was ok) at 630 when closed at 8. We aren't high maintenence or difficult, had a few questions as we had 5 kids and a couple of them are picky eaters. Didn't receive our food until after 8pm. People that came and ordered after us were gone before we got our food. I realize this happens sometimes but the server seemed to be more interested in closing duties than communicating with us or even getting more drinks. My buddies beer was empty for over 30 minutes before she came back to ask if he wanted another. Food was generally ok when it came except for 1 schnitzel that was as hard as a rock. Now I never complain about food but when my friend showed me how hard it was it was a joke. They did take that off the bill (also something I never ask for) the server basically continued to ignore us and was very obviously wanting us to leave as quickly as possible. I get it, might have been a long day. But when we finally did leave well after being there 2 hours and didn't tip very well because she didn't deserve it. She basically tossed the card reader on the counter and obviously felt hard done by having stayed there late. We aren't locals and will never be back anyways but cmon, ignoring us for most of 2+ hours and you're mad at us? We wanted to drink and spend $ but we couldn't. It left a really bad taste in our mouths. And I said to my wife as we drove back to our resort, 15 minutes away, how that server probably thought we were the ah and wouldn't change a...

Tonight I took a couple friends that were celebrating their engagement earlier today. Our celebratory dinner was more of a scene from the TV Show “Kitchen Nightmares”. To be clear I have been dining at this restaurant annually for more than 20 years of my life, it’s our go to breakfast place when we pass through town. This is the first time I have tried dinner and I will never make the mistake again. Our server was not the problem, just to be clear, she was a young girl, punctual, and had an overall friendly mannerism. MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO WAKE UP! We had ordered a Shrimp Stir Fry meal along with 3 other mains and an appy. It did take more then 1.25hrs for the food to come out, when it did the stir fry was not up to a quality worth eating. The Shang High ( sorry if that’s not correct spelling ) noodles were raw, and in large clumps throughout the dish, inedible, and the only flavour you could taste was a very pungent ED SMITH ORANGE GINGER SAUCE that they obviously just dump in the pan and swoosh around quickly to coat the pasta/shrimp. Once we approached the server she had the kitchen remake it to go, however the manager never came to talk to us, and just walked around us staring blankly because I don’t think she realized the server pointed her out to us previously so we knew who she was. Stupid Stupid Stupid people are wrecking what once was a great place. OWNERS JUST FIRE HER AND PAY THE SEVERANCE, ITS NOT WORTH WHATS HAPPENING SO QUICKLY TO THIS PLACE!!

The Black Forrest Restaurant is a great alternative to good food and atmosphere, try it instead when dividing...

We had very high hopes for re visiting this restaurant, we visited a few years ago on a family vacation. So this time around, we were excited.

First off, we did call to make a reservation. When we arrived, we were not greeted at all not even a smile or head nod. We had to wait about 10 minutes to be acknowledged and when we were acknowledged we had to wait while they got our table ready. The point of a reservation is have to table ready to go for when the patrons arrive.

Second, the one water glass of water had an after taste of pop that probably didnt get cleaned properly from the dishwasher.

Third. Fettuccine Alfredo was ordered and the parmesean cheese tasted like it was on the verg of going bad. We did not even eat it. (McDonald's was got for this person after we left cause she didnt get to eat)

Fourth. The salsa and sour cream was solidified and served together in the same side dish as well as tasting weird like on the verge of going bad.

Fifth. Chicken parm was ordered with roasted potatoes, was brought the first time with yam fries-not what was ordered. After correcting, it was brought a second time with mashed potatoes... not the roasted

Six. The men's bathroom still had the toilet brush left in it, and overflowing bathroom garages.

Seventh. The steak was over cooked and was chewy like leather.

We had to wait over an hour for all of this as well. Sadly, the management needs to do better quality control check on the food.

The server herself was friendly and attentive, sad that she looses out on potential tips due...

It's been well over a decade since our last visit to Huckleberry's due to a very mediocre experience. I'm happy to say that's no longer the case. We stopped in for breakfast with the family and we all enjoyed our meals. The service was quite prompt, although the restaurant was probably only approximately half full. The kids chose the ham & cheese omelette and chocolate chip mini stacks. The ham on the omelette added some great flavour and the hash browns it came with were delicious. The chocolate chip mini stack of pancakes were gobbled up as was the all beef sausage it came with. My wife had the regular portion of the ham & cheese omelette, which was just as tasty as the children's. I tried the Huckleberry's Sunriser which was very good, although I found the eggs a little bland (which may have been my fault as I ordered it without peppers & onions). The portion sizes were quite large, so you're definitely getting money's worth. Neither of us were able to finish our adult meals if that's any indication on the portion sizes. We'll definitely not wait so long to return to Huckleberry's in the future.

I have a pet peeve with breakfast restaurants. I was forced to give up coffee years ago. Many restaurants treat tea drinkers as second-class citizens. They bring you a tiny pot that will make one cup and pursue the wait staff for a refill. Unlike the always topped up coffee cup in a good place. Today was a home run, an insulated pot that was good for 3 cups. Part way through breakfast, Pat pointed out the Hukleberry tea on the beverage menu. I asked what it, our waitress explained, then went about her rounds. Out of the park home run, she arrived at our table with a single cup with bag steeping. If you are a tea drinker, try the Huckleberry tea with a little honey. If you enjoy it as much as I did, you will do what I did and buy some to take home. I wanted a meal that would carry me to dinner none stop. I ordered the supreme omelet. It filled the role and my tummy well. Pat is enjoying her Benny, since that's her go to we'll call that another win. Beware if you have a stuffed animal lover with, you may be taking something cuddly home with you.
