This place is forever a warm and welcoming memory in my life! After spending 7 days backpacking the splendid West Coast Trail with a party of 3, we decided to find a warm place with something edible to conclude our epic adventure. We found Tomi's from a local directory, and decided that this was the place. After trudging several miles from our camp, thoroughly soaked with rain, footsore and weary, we arrived. Probably appeared like a bunch of homeless folks, but the lady was quite nice! We certainly tracked in some considerable mud pies, and my boots were oozing an unidentifiable goop that had accumulated from wearing them 7 days straight and not being able to dry them. Kindly seated at a table, we enjoyed the beautiful drawings on the walls that (I believe) were drawn by the owners father. We were served our food, and magnificent home style hot dog for me, and a rather splendiferous burger for my brother. Everything tasted fantastic! And this is not just me speaking as someone who had eaten nothing but trail food for a week. At the end we had some delightful Renfrew Fog, a concoction of tea, some kind of cream, and probably tears of elite highland Alpacas. Yeah, it was that good. After a good and hearty meal, we were allowed to clean up in the washrooms, and finally, rather reluctantly, returned to our tents to wait out the rest of the driving rain until the next day. Ā Ā Ā Read moreWonderful stop for breakfast and hit the spot in all the right ways. While waiting for breakfast to be made, we dug into their homemade Cinnamon buns - I think we snagged the last ones too. Soft, chewy, slightly crunchy with not too sweet cream cheese icing. Beware the sticky hands My partner had their bagel and cream cheese - nothing fancy here, loaded with cream cheese and I had their bacon and egg sandwich. Fresh crunchy bacon, real cheddar and a freshly cooked egg on a toasted English muffin. Coffee was good. Again nothing fancy here, but will fulfill all caffeine needs. If you're looking for a nice local cafe frequented by the locals this is your spot Sorry no pics - sticky hands Also - wifi available - I believe they ask for a min $20 purchase and their card machine requires a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDonāt waste your time. The āserviceā we received (i. e. being completely ignored) was appalling. Go anywhere else but here...Wandered in to the deserted cafe to see two cooks busy at the grill and a cashier counting cash at the counter. One of the cooks gave us a menu but warned āwe are out of a lot of things.ā We decided on our order and stood directly in front of the counter while the cashier carried on counting cash. We waited about five minutes but there was absolutely no acknowledgement of our presence, no eye contact, no smile, no āsorry Iāll be done in a second.ā Just head down with a grim face slowly counting $5 bills. Atrocious service. We went to the Renfrew Pub and had a delicious lunch served by friendly...
