Simply put, an absolutely OUTSTANDING experience! My partner and I decided to give Hacienda Cielito Lindo a try and we loved the authentic Mexican feel of the place, not tacky and try hard, but really authentic feeling Mexican family run.
We ordered the chicken mole enchiladas and 4 tacos to share with some chips and guac. The chips, guac, and pico de gallo that came were AWESOME. All home made and simply delicious. Next came the tacos which were just fantastic, best I've ever had! After a bit of time waiting and no mole, the owner stopped by to ask if we were missing anything and we said yes we are still waiting on the mole but still talking about the tacos! He apologized profusely and rushed to the kitchen where he rattled off the order in Spanish (seems like it may have been missed the first time).
After what seemed like just over 5 mins he rushed out with the mole and oh man, it was phenomenal!! More than worth the wait, deep, chocolaty, and rich! Loving our mole, the server then returned to the table with an entire melted cheese appetizer followed closely behind by (what I presume was his father) 2 margaritas in hand!!! All on the house, just for the mole being a bit late!! Cheese was to die for and margs were fantastic!
Honestly I can't even believe our first experience at Hacienda Cielito Lindo, it was honestly one of my favorite restaurant experiences ever. The home cooked, authentic, family atmosphere, the absolutely out of the world food, and the overly generous hospitality, all made this an extremely memorable experience! Kamloops is so very lucky to have an amazing establishment like this!
Go and support this awesome family business, you...
Read moreMe and my boyfriend had come to this restaurant for a date and were very disappointed, our female server took our order and then never returned, we ended being served by the bartender/server guy for the rest of our dinner, then when we were near the end of our dinner, the guy server asked if we needed a box, when we respectfully said no thanks as we were still eating he kindly said no problem but than the moment he left the other female server(new server) asked us if we needed a box, when I had told her that the guy had just asked us and taken care of us, she proceeded ask if it was a box or not, like she wanted us to leave, when I said no we were still eating she looked offended and left saying okay than I’ll just leave than, and proceeded to the back where I had a clear view where she proceeded to talk about me to the guy server( she pointed at us that’s how I know), once we were done, we waited five minutes to see if the guy server would come ask if we needed our bill and nothing just walked past us, mind you at this point we didn’t have any plates in front of us, finally my boyfriend stop him and asked for the check, we waited another five minutes when it was made clear that he had forgotten and asked the female server (box girl) to give us our bill because he could tell we were getting impatient. Overall very unpleasant experience and okay food, very disappointed as I am apart of the Latino community and in a group for Latino businesses and sad I can’t say good things...
Read moreDisappointing Service Experience.
I recently visited a Hacienda Cielito Lindo Mexican restaurant in Kamloops and wanted to share my experience. While the food itself had a good taste, I was disappointed with the level of service provided.
To start, I ordered four tacos that came with a minuscule amount of lime - approximately 1/8 of a lime. When I asked for more limes, I was shocked to be charged $1 for just 3/8 more of a lime. Not only did I not receive a full lime, but there was no mention of an additional cost for extra limes.
Additionally, I brought a friend who had recently arrived in Canada. They requested more salsa as the portion provided was insufficient for the size of their dish. Surprisingly, they were charged $2.50 for a small amount of extra salsa. Again, there was no indication that there would be an extra charge for salsa.
Despite these disappointments, we felt compelled to leave a tip to support the establishment as I am Mexican. However, overall, the experience fell short of my expectations. I would recommend choosing Casa Azul instead, as they offer better customer service and a wider menu selection.
In conclusion, while the flavor of the food at this Mexican restaurant in Kamloops was enjoyable, the lack of transparency regarding extra charges for simple condiments such as lime and salsa, left much to be desired. I hope this review provides honest feedback to both the restaurant and...
