UPDATE July 28/2025—-after reaching out via email and Facebook several times regarding our issues with the Mother’s Day meals in mid May, we still have not received any kind of response from Spice restaurant. Ridiculous and sad. I would think that a restaurant kept afloat by its loyal locals would want to investigate and at least apologize for the terrible experience that I have written below. Nope.
May 2025. We dine in or get take out from Spice often….for almost 5 years now. It’s always good…..except for this past Mother’s day for their special buffet. We were greeted warmly by the hostess—the staff here are always great in person and we sat down. The restaurant was insanely loud and we could not hear our hostess (we are in our early 50s). Unfortunately, the floors were a disaster due to several tables allowing their young toddlers to throw food repeatedly.
We went up to the buffet numerous times only to find most trays were empty of food. I never did get any veggie pakoras, the Indian veggie dish or the paneer dish. Managed to get a few koftas that were left behind. As a vegetarian, this made my meal very small, certainly not worth $35 per person price. The lentil dish which I always love was tasteless. All the food was lukewarm and the lentil dish was cold. Naan was good but you needed to grab it quick before it too was long gone. When it was dessert time, there was only 1 serving left for a full restaurant.
Unfortunately I had horrible tummy upset all night and all the next day that no amount of Eno, Rolaids, or Pepto could fix. I did not eat any meat (vegetarian).
My husband had violent food poisoning for 2 days and missed work. He was literally praying for death…..it was that bad. He had eaten the beef, chicken and lamb.
Giving it 2 stars because of past good experiences but this last experience was terrible and has turned us off Indian food. Not getting any response after informing them numerous times of food poisoning is...
Read moreAfter having lunch at Bold Pizzeria in Kamloops we were hunting for Indian supper. It was just a random google search for Indian restaurant near here. We found Spice Indian Restaurant, and I am glad that we ended up following google this time. It was my first trip to Kamloops and never tried any other Indian restaurant but having such a good quality food here, I wont be going any where else while in Kamloops. Not too many servers but the waiting time for food was quite less than what we thought. Food was really super hot felt like just came off the fire. Usually getting Paneer dishes in other restaurants are half way cold while reaching to the table, but this place served us the best food ever. Clean place nice environment. Great service. Not a single thing went wrong. Super recommended place for...
Read moreI came in through a recommendation by a friend, and was not disappointed! Great service, staff was quick and attentive (one nice lady noticed I was looking for something and came up to ask me right away what I was looking for before I even said anything). It’s a small, nice and cozy place, and the food is very aromatic and flavorful. I especially love the butter chicken, so creamy and buttery and rich. I came in for the all-you-can-eat with my boyfriend, and we both loved it. The place is clean and I see staffs cleaning the counters often. However, I’d like to see more options for the buffet if possible, but for the price it was very fair. I would definitely visit again to try some of their food on the...
