Kirstens Hideout Café — Restaurant in Kamloops

I went to this restaurant 2 weeks ago with my 3 year old daughter to take her out for a breakfast date. We got there and it was busy. Waited at the front till and a younger lady told us the tables by the window were free. We pointed to confirm which tables and she nodded. Me and my daughter went and there was a 4 top and 2 top table pushed together so I pulled the 2 top away a little so they could still have the 4 top for someone else. After we sat down a lady with longer black hair came over and snapped at us asking why we were moving the tables and gave us attitude asking if someone said we could sit there. I said yes and pointed to the girl at the till. Lady with black hair then snapped at her too and yelled that the table is reserved and we couldn't sit there (no reserved signs or anything implying reserved). Me and my daughter got up and another lady pointed to another table that was apparently available. Decided to just take my daughter and leave, we went somewhere else. Usually we go there because the service is so great and friendly. Was super thrown off by how rude this waitress was to us. I sent an email asking the owner to contact us but they never did. Oh my god, what a fantastic local restaurant!

We came for brunch (party of five) on a holiday Monday. We were immediately greeted by a smiling happy employee, and directed to a table.

The menu had an excellent selection of old favourites, so everyone was able to order something great. With the choice of gluten free bread, my daughter was able to order a full breakfast. We ended up with three breakfasts and two burgers (one being the daily special).

When the food arrived we were all impressed by the presentation and portions. No one was going home hungry today 😋

I can't say enough about the service we recieved. It was soup to nuts excellent without ANY snags. Our waitress/hostess did her job seemingly without effort, while keeping everyone in the restaurant happy.

The decor reminded me of happy memories, while being modern and up to date enough so as not to seem dated.

So, did we have a good time and eat some great food? Yes. Will we be back? Yes. Will we be recommending Kirsten's to our friends? Yes. Will we be recommending Kirsten's to our enemies? No, they...

They are very Spiderman is Cool here 😎 a great hidden away Cafe that came to me with 2 recommendations from unrelated sources! One of them being the cooks' son 😉 The waitress was very pleasant and witty, which came as a refreshing surprise compared to the usual no nonsense approach 😊

The food is 4.9 👍 with excellent selection of lunch sandwiches and bread options, beautifully done fries, a great Cesar salad, delectable beef dip, and all very well presented 🤩 There was zero negative feedback from my companions on the dishes and I trust them 💯

I had the shrimp sandwich and Cesar salad 😁 My personal preference on shrimp, tuna & salmon salads is too have it 'chopped' and mixed into a 'salad' of other complimentary ingredients. Here I experienced layered small canned shrimp with a salad on top. I was not convinced that it is a better way 😅

Very execellent home cooked style food with some interesting variations, well worth the effort to finding it. Busy but not so busy that you need to stand in line...
