I never write such a long google review. I did it this time as I don't want any people having such terrible experience that we had in this restaurant. I want to give negative instead of 1 star as this restaurant didn't deserve any stars. They offered all you can eat menu with VERY limited choices and unreasonable prices. They limited 6 pieces of sushi per person and they didn't give us sushi that we ordered at the first round. We waited more than 30 minutes before we asked them why. They told us the reason why they didn't give us sushi as they think we couldn't eat them all. WHAT?!! SERIOUSLY?!! This is the most RIDICULOUS and awful answer that we had never heard before. We ordered the sushi at the beginning and we insisted having those sushi as they shouldn't choose what to serve if those foods are in the all you can eat menu. They finally gave us the sushi with a lot of rice and a very thin slice of sashimi. Please note that there are EXTRA charges for ordering sashimi. So, we doubted that sushi is the only expensive food on the all you can eat menu. So, they didn't want to serve us. Besides, POOR services with terrible hygiene especially flies and mosquitoes everywhere. The restaurant was not busy as there were only a few customers. Still, the servers won't refill the water unless we ordered something else other than water to drink. How can we eat without drinking anything? The owner forced us to eat the food after the fly landed on our foods. We told her that we won't eat that. Of course, we would rather pay for the foods instead of eating the contaminated foods. We don't want food poisoning. Please pay attention that they must count and charge leftover food even 1 piece. Be careful that there are a lot of small fonts written rules and regulations and different versions to charge you for different reaosns all over the place that if you do not pay 100% attention, you will have to pay for ALL OF THEM before you can leave. A RIDICULOUS FAMILY-RUN RESTAURANT. NEVER WANNA GO BACK. NOT...

Wprst experience of my life. Waitress at this restraunt yelled at my little girl for waisting food, my daughter eas still eating but she took her plate early. So she went and got more came back to waitress yelling at her. My daughter lost her apitite after being yelled at. My daughter went to the bathroom and came out as i was eating i was aproched by tge waitress at my table she yelled across the room that she was going to call the police if i didnt get up now to see what my daughter had done. I got up to see that my daughter threw 3 pieces of sushi in the garbage because she was scared of being yelled at again. I did not know she did this. I asked her if she did and in tears she told me that she didnt because she was scared. The waitress proceeded to stabd right in my daughters face point her finger right in her face and yell agressivly in her face that she did do it because she followed her into the bathroom and saw! I told the waitress to remove her finger or i would break it. Then i aksed my daughter to go sit down at the table. I then told her she had seriously crossed a line and theres absolutly no excuse for her to yell in my daughters face and point her finger in her face which she denied doing while standing by her boss. The cook an older lady was beside her however when she did this and said nothing at all. Absolutly discusting offensive woman! My little girl feels sick by what...

This is our favorite go to almost once a week go to. But we noticed that when their previous server isn't there anymore, the service went bad. We love the food we still do. First bad experience: the couple who came after us got their water and ordered drinks before us (15 to 20 mins wait). I asked 3 people (seems like the wife and daughter and 1 server) for water, but we didn't get anymore server asked for the couples order who came after us, still no water. We ended up leaving. Second bad experience, the server refused to take our orders over the phone so when we get there we can have the food ready (10 to 15 mins away from the restaurant stil). I called quarter to 8 and they close at 8:30, but she refused to take our order because "it will be hard because they are busy", but we can order for pick-up. Servers needs to be trained properly as tips depends on the servers. Your previous worker was amazing, whoever she works for now...

Placed order online. Simple and easy. Order was ready on time. The woman at the counter at pickup was friendly and hospitable. Food was packed up very nicely, takeout bag was tied tight so everything stayed upright and tight inside. Asked for extra soy sauce and got two full containers of it (plenty for my whole order, and I’m a genuine soy sauce addict). Growing up in Vancouver and having eaten great sushi my whole life, the food quality was excellent. Rolls were well made and didnt crumble/fall apart. Rice was perfect. Ingredients tasted fresh and everything tasted great overall. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was charming and calm. Felt like a legit japanese restaurant. Prices very reasonable. Very pleased overall. Highly recommend.

Being from Vancouver, we're spoiled with tasty Korean and Japanese food - in particular Korean. This place has very yummy food, whether it is Korean or Japanese. The house was also super nice and provided us with a complimentary roll sushi dish! Totally unexpected but made our day. Service is excellent, ingredients are fresh and location is nothing to rave about but just hearty and cozy and felt like being back in Vancouver going to our usual budget friendly Korean-Japanese restaurants for everyday eats. The all you can eat menu here, although we didn't give it a try, looks to be great so keep that in mind next time one visits Nara :)!

Unfortunately no sides or gochujiang (hot sauce) to go with my Korean food here, but I suppose its not a dedicated Korean restaurant since they serve sushi and other Japanese dishes here as well. I had the Beef Bulgogi with rice. Flavours were ok, not spectacular...but not bad either. A decent portion of beef, the bowl of rice was a bit small. They charge $2 for a pot of Genmaicha (green tea with roasted rice). This was a solid 3.5 stars, but they wooed me with a 3- piece avocado California roll on the house...so 4 stars today. Service was solid with a smile.
