Stacked Pancake & Breakfast House — Restaurant in Kawartha Lakes

I was a regular and always had a good experience until one day I waited with my son and husband 25 min for our breakfast and people who sat after us already had there food. This still wasn’t a deal breaker for me things happen and I can understand that. The server gave us a buy one get one free coupon also so I appreciated that. We came back on Mother’s Day got our breakfast which was very good and when it was time to pay gave the coupon to the waitress and she said she’d be right back. She came back with the owner’s instructions saying the coupon they gave us for the poor service last time is only good Monday-Friday so we can’t use it. I’m not gonna argue so I did pay the bill of 42.00 still tipped the waitress not her fault she was wonderful. My husband decided to speak to the owner and give back the coupon we received cause we definitely will not be returning. He began to explain the situation from last time and how we’re regulars she said she recognized us as regulars. As he explained why we won’t be back after today’s experience she proceeded to lie to him saying she can’t override the system not knowing my husband is a GM at a restaurant and he very well knows she can. He made sure to tell her he was after the fact and she said well if she does it for him she has to do it for other people, just poor excuses honestly. I’m a firm believer in good customer service especially in restaurants. I’ll just become a regular somewhere else. Anyways it is good food and the servers are great but not a place I would support after that experience...

I visited on Dec 19th and I waited to post my review. This is one of the only negative reviews I have posted. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and everything appeared clean and tidy including the tables. I was seated quite quickly and the staff were very pleasant. I ordered the express breakfast. From the name I should have known not to have high expectations. Unfortunately the eggs were super runny and snotty even though they were ordered as over easy. The home fries were very bland and very very blonde colored and seemed barely cooked or seasoned. The sausage and toast and coffee were all good. The food came out of the kitchen quite quickly.

The waitress dropped off the bill when I was still eating which seemed odd. She said I don't mean to rush you but it definitely felt a bit rushed (maybe it was the express breakfast). I was not even done my coffee and the waitresses then returned with the card machine. I guess it was time to go. I visited on a weekday and assumed I would be able to enjoy my meal. I was by myself and there were other tables that were there well before my arrival.

As I stated before most often I give either 4 or 5 star reviews or do not post a negative review and give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. It's been a while since I have been so off put especially on a first visit and wanted to share. Hopefully my experience is the execption, and they don't continue to serve barely cooked food and rush their customers...

Our family tried out the newest breakfast place in Lindsay on a Saturday morning. The place was full but we were seated within minutes.

Once seated, our server (Phoebe) greeted us and promptly returned with our beverages.

We found the menu easy to read and it didn’t take us long to decide. Pricing is decent.

Our food probably came within 10 minutes of ordering. Everything was warm and cooked fine.

Food quality and taste was all good and typical for any quality pancake house. The atmosphere and feel is similar to an IHOP, but perhaps a little more upscale.

The interior of the restaurant is an open concept with a modern and contemporary feel. Our table was clean and seating was comfortable.

We were seated by a wall, so the restaurant background noise was minimal for our table conversation. It might be different if you were seated out in the middle.

Our server looked after us very well and others also checked in and offered more coffee if needed. The coffee was actually pretty good.

All in all, our family was very satisfied with the food and the rankings were:

Dad - 4 stars Mom - 5 stars Teen #1 - 5 stars Teen #2 - 4.5 stars Teen #3 - 3 stars
