This is typical Canadian family run restaurant and also the good brunch place in this area. The place is average size. I went there with my friend to try breakfast which is available all day. This place is very busy In the morning, so you have to approach server if you need your coffee refill. My friend ordered 3 fried eggs+bacon with brown toast, I got veggie omelet. It comes with home fries, which are homemade like everything else. The fries are not French fries but the sliced type and are good, thick and thin.. My friend gave 7/10 to sausage because it was little thin, overall food quality, taste and size 8/10 and I gave same. The cheese was on top of omelette while I prefer inside.. the average price is $15 and there is one choice for extra hungry person. I haven’t tried their other food, if I go again then will write about it. If you are in Port Elgin and Kincardine area, I do recommend for nice breakfast or brunch as it is available all day.. Staff is very friendly and do give you home...
Read moreService was very slow. Had to sit at a dirty table which took quite a while to be cleared. Cloth it was wiped with looked grungy, server left table very wet before bringing paper placemats. She somewhat jokingly complained about having to come "all the way back here" to our table. Houseflies buzzing around were not appreciated. Washrooms not terribly clean, was surprised to see an old wooden change-table with cloth coverings in washroom. Made me wonder about other areas where up to date hygiene practises might be lacking. Eggs ordered over easy were undercooked (slimy), bacon and sausage both seriously undercooked, portions of sausage were raw. "Homemade" berry pie was made with commercial crust that was close to raw dough on the bottom, filling was some kind of mush that was very dry and tasteless, "berries" were unidentifiable. Came here because of positive online reviews stating this is where the locals come. They can keep Jean's, will look elsewhere next time...
Read moreI have been here many times was always happy with the food and service. Not so much today. The waitress suggested we eat outside. Told her people are waiting to eat outside. Well I really don't know what to tell you was her response. Really snotty about it. Was more then willing to wait to be seated as it was very busy. She ended up asking 2 people to move from a 4 seater table to a 2 seater table. Witch was very nice the 2 people moved. She proceeded to put placemats and silverware out. At that time my wife asked for the table to be disinfected. The waitress gave the dirtiest look slammed the silverware down and went to go disinfectant. At that time we decided to just leave and take our business elsewhere. And she proceeded rudely to yell across the restaurant well goodbye then. I am undecided if I will return after this. The 3 stars is because of the service I had from previous experiences. Brought family from out of town today. They could not believe...
