I would not even give this establishment one star, but that is not an option. From the sit down we had many issues. 1) The server complained to US that had she known we were coming, she would have prepped the table (she says as she gives us our utensils.) She did- we made a reservation. 2) I ordered the only vegan app on the menu (chilli cauliflower) and it came as a soggy, over sauced, tacky and chewy bowl of goop. There is no other way to explain the texture and consistency other than goop. I did not eat it but another member of my party did. 3) We ordered our dinner - the server then informs us that per EACH table you get ONE bowl of complementary rice to share, but then you have to order more and there is a cost per bowl. To clarify, it was per TABLE not per order. 4) I ordered the Cauliflower tacos (hoping it was not the same soggy mess) but told the server I was allergic to dairy so no; milk, butter cheese or sour cream. The tacos came as three soft shells WITH THE SAME GOOP just sitting on the tortillas- no tomatoes or lettuce on it. This was addressed and sent back (with much confusion as to why....) it was given back to me with salsa and lettuce and a condescending explanation that the coleslaw has diary (it doesn't) and that the photo showing tomatoes is for the salsa choice (I picked spicy and it was for mild) and thus not applicable for it to be on my dish. I ate half of one and sent the rest back as I could not eat it. Another member of my party had ordered a curry and it made her very sick. Over all I would NOT suggest this place. (OH and the server told us that IF we were going to tip, to please hand her the cash not use...
Read moreIf I could, I'd give it 3.5 stars. There were some great things for sure: the appetizers were all very tasty. The tamarind sauce with the samosas was good, but not quite as intense as I'm used to. The butter chicken was very flavorful as was the saag, although the latter was surprisingly spicy. Both curries were sauce with a few pieces of chicken rather than chicken with a sauce over it. After we finished eating, the serving dishes were still half full with the leftover sauce, and we even had a second helping that was just sauce over rice. The naan bread was also a major disappointment. It is usually one of the highlights of an Indian meal, but this didn't have the spongy texture I expected. It was more like pizza dough or just regular white bread dough in a naan shape. I see that they offer a naan based pizza; perhaps they have tried to develop a bread that is appropriate for both. Back to good things! The prices were very reasonable - I'd have been happy to pay a few dollars more for more chicken in the entrees. The rice also had excellent texture and flavor. Service was attentive and very quick without being rushed. Overall, we'd go back for the appetizers and butter chicken, but offer to pay more for...
Read moreI have been coming here for a long time and the food is always amazing. After their upgrade I decided to try something new on their menu. The Dahi Poori was a great balance between sweet and savory. I struggled to not inhale the whole plate! They were light also which meant I could still enjoy my main. Everything is good here. I have tried several as well as had friends say they really enjoyed theirs. Having lived with an Indian roommate in the past, I knew to expect the unexpected when trying new dishes as there is so much diversity with the cuisine. The cocktail lime soda is a savory drink so for those who enjoy a ceaser, it may be a good choice. They even offered me a complimentary Cosmo which is not served as a traditional Cosmo but is my recommendation for those who do not e joy the taste of alcohol. It was very refreshing and the presentation was nicely done. I'll be back next time to order the daal as daal is my favorite! (Their mexican menu is a flavourful and savory take on texmex dishes. They're full of flavour and they don't skimp on the...
