Abe Erb delivers an excellent craft beer experience paired with an inventive and diverse menu that hits well above standard pub fare. Whether you’re a beer aficionado or just there for the food, there’s something for everyone.
🍽️ Food Experience
The menu offers an eclectic mix of elevated snacks, mains, and handhelds. Standouts include:
Halloumi Fries – A favorite for vegetarians and cheese lovers, crispy and well-seasoned.
The Bell Buster Burger – Loaded with cheese, bacon, and caramelized onions, this one’s a hearty, satisfying option.
Grilled Cauliflower – A plant-based dish that doesn’t feel like a compromise—topped with chimichurri, it’s bright and flavorful.
Steak Frites – For those craving classic bistro fare, this comes with perfectly cooked steak and house fries.
The menu marks gluten-free and vegetarian options clearly, showing a thoughtful approach to dietary needs.
🍻 Beer Flights
The beer flights are a definite highlight—served on sleek wooden paddles with chalkboard labels. The variety is impressive, including:
NEIPA (New England IPA) – Juicy, hazy, and full of tropical hop flavor.
Amber & Maltier Ales – Rich, toasty options perfect for cooler evenings.
Buggy, Kolsch, and Light – Crisp and refreshing for lighter palates or summer sipping.
Stout (O’Tool) – A dark, creamy brew with roasted notes that balances the flight well.
The range from light to dark, hoppy to malty, makes this ideal for sharing or sampling before picking a pint.
🌞 Atmosphere
The outdoor seating offers a relaxed vibe with sturdy wood tables and a rustic finish—great for groups or casual hangouts. The presentation (like the beer paddles and glassware) adds a stylish touch without being overdone.

Read moreWent to Abe Erb Brewing Company (Kitchener location) for lunch today with my husband. Our first time at this location.
Let me start by saying the restaurant was very nice. The atmosphere is very casual and downtown “ish”. It reminded me of the restaurants I used to visit when I lived in Toronto. I liked the atmosphere from the second I walked in to Abe Erb.
Next, I need to say that our server Doug was awesome. He is a super friendly person. Very pleasant to talk to and very attentive. He made my drinks(I am not a beer drinker) exactly the way I asked him to make them. My husband told him what kind of beer he was looking to try and Doug recommended something that my husband really enjoyed. Thank you Doug for the amazing service!
On to the food, I had the surf and turf tacos. All I can say is best tacos ever! They were absolutely delicious! I could have eaten a dozen of them they were that good. My husband had the Northern Abe with truffle parm fries. He enjoyed every bite his meal.
Will I go back to Abe Erb again? Absolutely, may be again even tomorrow.
I highly recommend Abe Erb Brewing Company. And if you get Doug as your server it’s just and added...

To cut to the chase: I ordered the chicken sausage with kimchi jam. I think it is reasonable to expect a dish that is described as containing kimchi to be hot, spicy, and to exhibit the flavours of kimchi. But that isn't the Abe Erb way, as I've learned from previous meals. When the sausage arrived, I was treated to a desiccated bun, topped with an adequate sausage and a smear of red condiment. While eating my meal, it took all my powers to imagination to convince myself that there just might be a homeopathic smidge of kimchi somewhere.
You may ask, why didn't I complain, or send it back? Answer: this was my 4th visit to an Abe Erb location, and I'd had to do that on 2 of the previous 3 visits with meals that were not as advertised. (ask me sometime about the lack of jerk flavour in their "jerk" chicken.) I didn't have the heart for that anymore.
Anyone who has read my other reviews of Abe Erb will know that I am very unimpressed with the whole she-bang: the beer, the service, and especially the food. I hadn't tried the new Kitchener branch, so I let myself be dragged for an impromptu Friday post-work gathering with friends for the meal...
